honestly what it really comes down to is that people from western washington can be very pretentious. they tend to think they're way better than anybody from east of the cascades, hence why anything east of the cascades is deemed eastern washington and is something to be avoided. a girl i know from high school in spokane goes to UW and says that whenever she tells people she's from spokane, they're just like "oh..." not saying everybody is like this, but i hear this kind of thing a lot. spokane has a very bad reputation among westerners from what i can tell, even though people i know from seattle are all exactly like people i know from spokane.
and it's too bad because we like westerners, you guys just don't like us.
but then again, we tend to think our region is much better than central washington, and that's not necessarily true either. i know some really cool people who live in wenatchee (for instance the wenatchee kendama team). so what i'm getting at is that central washington is very real in my opinion (and in the opinions of many), but apparently its existence is a matter of perspective. but i think we hate central washington because i feel like it's our way of saying 'hey seattle, we're not so different. don't confuse us with central washington.' so maybe you guys should just recognize the existence of central washington and we can all avoid it together
