Not all 3-piece boots behave the same way (some flex better than others), nor do they fit the same. Don't just buy a boot simply because it's a 3-piece. Always get the boot that fits you the best, which might be a 3-piece, might not be.
I just got a pair of dalbello il moros and they're awesome. the flex is different to a regular overlap boot....i find them more responsive. But not all 3 piece boots are the same. I tried on some Full Tilts and it felt like I was wearing ankle boots. I was able to move around in them so much (inb4 you need them moulded). The Dalbellos have so much more support. I agree with what they told me at the shop....if you're paying that much for a boot then you don't want plastic buckles (Full Tilt) or boots with plastic so thin that you can't blow them out to adjust for your foot if they're hurting (Full Tilt). Not hating, just saying...
Then again man it's all personal preference. What works for you may not work for others. If I had extra money when I bought boots at the beginning of the season, I would of got Dalbello's instead of FT.
