One option you have is to set the GoPro on video mode, then set it up on a tripod or some surface where it wont move for the duration of the shot you are making. Then, put the clip of your trick or movie into the computer and select specific "frames" and save them as screenshots or photos. After you have all the shots you want for your sequence saved as photos, all you have to do is put them in photoshop and work with them just like you would with a sequence shot with a normal camera.
The only disadvantage to this method is that sometimes the person or thing that the sequence is focused on can be blurry, and also, the quality wont be as good as a sequence taken with a professional camera. Of course, unless you are printing your sequences onto a wall, 720p or 1080p are still very good resolution photos.
