We just launched our new website with all the new 2012 gear, and pre-orders have begun! We have special pre-season pricing in effect (suits are $395, jackets are $265, and pants are $185) which won't last long. Plus, US buyers get free shipping on orders over $250.

We really worked hard this year to increase the quality of everything we are making, and are proud to have all new factories for every product, new fabrics, refined sizing, better accessories, you name it.

We also have a new warehouse with full time shippers to make sure orders are shipped out quickly and correctly.

Although we continue to get some hate from a select few on NS, we'll continue to do everything possible to prove to the NS community we deserve your business and respect. We are a company of less than 2 years, and have learned a lot from your feedback, input, and help in that time. We were born from Newschoolers, and we won't forget it!

Thank you for being one of a few people to dislike FD and have a legit reason besides reading about it on NS or hearing it form your friends. I think if people are going to base their hate off of reading somewhere it should be from a post like this.
Personally my pants held up awesome for 80 or so days of riding I used them for and I was real stoked on them when I had them.
I also had the same experiacne with the gloves unfortunately. Let me guess the rip was between the thumb and the pointer finger. Thats exactly where mine ripped first day of use as well.

Hey guys, we appreciate the feedback. Yes, we had some problems with this one line of stitching on the thumbs ripping. That's why we stopped selling the gloves and pulled them off the site. We took a huge loss on those, and if you notice we have not begun selling them this year. Once we find a factory that is able to make the quality of gloves we demand, we'll begin making them again.

If you had a pair of gloves that ripped and want to place another order with us for some gear, just shoot us an email to info@fdwear.com with some pics and we'll throw in another item or two for free when your order ships. We have a full warranty policy on all our products.

We had great feedback on the outerwear and accessories this year. There are still definitely things that could use improving (aren't there always), which is why motivated us to go with a new factory this year. We also found new factories for all our accessories because we are always striving to make stuff better.

We are really excited where this brand has gone in less than 2 years, and we hope you'll stick around to support us as FD continues to grow and improve it's products.

The only product i have ever had experience with is a hoodie. which was great. no ripping or anything.
from all of the people who have had the outerwear i have never seen a ripped jacket. and only one pair of ripped pants, from their first year line. i will definitely be picking something up if i can find the money

Okay I'm just going to say I don't own any of the jackets or pants, but I bought a thermal, tee, and reversible hoodie. aside from a bit of odd stitching on the hoodie (which has held up fine anyway, and i expect it to) i've been happy with my purchase. i know everyone complains about the outerwear, whatever, i'm not going to comment (but i do like some of the colors, especially black/white). Overall, I'm excited to see the new gear on the mountain next year.

Suggestion: do some sort of contest or something and get some suits to people and have them review them. SOMETHING so you guys can prove to everyone that there has been some improvement in quality that has been complained about and back it up (not from my experiences, but everybody says it)

A couple questions: Why change to "FD wear"?
Second: why jeans? this is a ski/outerwear company, I understand the letter jackets, and even maybe the polos, but jeans?
Finally: What does the 64 on the jerseys mean?

Good to see FD going out on a limb here on NS to defend themselves.

and i think its good you guys are making different stuff like the jeans and stuff

honestly i thought this too, i have FD pants and was like oh they will be fine as long as i take care of them and then they fell apart..check all the other stuff i have too, all in basically 9.5/10 condition...i take care of my stuff, but it seems it doesnt matter how good you take care of FD it will still fall apart, at least in my case...i wish it would have held up though...

Funny enough I actually used this pocket as much as any other on my jacket last season. Its a nice big pocket and great for soft stuff like hats, gloves, boardshorts for hottub poaching, ect and since its not really against your body unless you are sitting you don't notice this stuff as much as if it was stuffed in a side or inner pocket.

I find the blatant hate a little much in some of these comments, especially people who simply post in every FD related thread. I won't name names but there are several of you here who do that over and over. Good for you, you don't like them whatever your reason, some legit and some not, you've been heard now move on. There are people who really do like the products and what this company is doing, so let them enjoy it and who are you to say they are wrong?

Every young company will have their problems, hell every company has their problems but what Lesh and his team have built is impressive and they deserve a little respect there.

Yeah you can definitely tell in this thread that people haven't been skiing in a while... hate just seeps out when there's no snow on the ground.

Every company has issues. I mean remember Dynastar Troublemakers? Edges blew out when you looked at them.

People bitched. What happened?

Dynastar came on NS, saw the issue, addressed it and fixed the problem. I remember going to their booth at SIA and there was a newschoolers thread framed on the wall hating on those troublemakers.

Same thing has happened to various other companies. Thats why there are warranties - you can't control every variable, and even the best companies make mistakes once in a while.

FD has stated time and time again that they stand behind their products with a full warranty. So if you have something that broke/ripped - take them up on the warranty. If they replace your shit then don't come on the internet and just say "HORRIBLE QUALITY" say "This suit was bad, but I got it replaced in my warranty dealings. Good customer service."

Look at this thread. Can you imagine the professionalism it would take to come in and see such needless hate going on, yet to keep their chins up and offer you guys a discount? Hell if you're having issues, you can just reach out to the FD crew right here on Newschoolers.

I can attest that they're very much approachable and friendly guys.

Also, I've had a few FD suits now, and always loved them. Frankly I have issues with a lot of stuff I wear, in many different ways. FD delivers a product which is what I want... flashy, cool-looking, decently priced outerwear that I can be a Newschooler in. Its absolutely perfect for what it is.

Wanna summit Everest in the rain while eating granola? Go ahead and buy that $600 arcteryx jacket. It'll do you way better than FD.

To all the haters with no personal experience with FD, I still have my full original suit! There's only minor ripping in the boot area (perfectly normal..) and the velcro needs to be replaced on one of the wrists of the jacket. That being said, I'm amazed on how well my suit has been holding down..
Waterproofness is not too bad, it really doesn't matter since I live on the east coast..
If you're complaining on how "bad" the waterproofness is because of all the pow you're skiing, then FD is not going to be for you and move out east if you want FD...
FD is still a growing company that is getting better every year, give them a chance.

Yes, their professionalism in this thread is very good offering a 20% discount for us even though everyone hates on them, so yes I will applaud them on that, but have you looked in the other thread where they decided to call out a NS member. Now for a business to do that is basically suicide. Why on earth would you basically try to humiliate a potential customer? It just astounds me, wouldn't you want to try to make them happy so that maybe in the future you could obtain their business? So, yes in this thread they handled themselves very well, but in the other thread in SG they did the complete opposite and do nothing but bring more hate on themselves than they ever had before.
