Newschoolers Shadow Art

Have you heard of shadow art? It's a very unique and modern form of sulptural art where 2D shadows are cast by 3D scluptures. By using diffrent light sources and sculptural formats, these shadows can seem amazingly impossible. If you have never seen this type of art here are some awesome examples:



I finally just finished a new piece I have been working on for about 2 weeks. It is about a foot tall and uses two light sources, which helps cast out wanted shadows. The first light source is directly behind the sculpture and about 1/2 way up. The other is basically directly looking down on top of it, but is still a very little bit behind. Hope u likey, I'll be working on some more skiing related ones soon!

We are not being dicks dude, it just lookes fake because of the angle you have shown it at! Try taking some more pictures with the whole thing included. Im talking about the light source, the entire set up, then maybe it will be more believable.

I don't have to prove myself to anyone, I worked my ass off on that and really don't care if anyone believes me. I'm gunna be starting a new one tonight and hopefully have it done by this weekend and I assure you it will be just as awesome and just as real. I would have taken some bigger pictures but I was concentrating on the art not if people would believe me or not. Next one will be up as soon as im done.

basically you just draw whatever design you are going to do on the paper, set up your lights where they aren't going to be moved, and fill in the space you drew with shadows. It's easier than you think it just takes forever.

I'm not being a dick and judging by your light source since its above and behind then the actual shadow of the ball would way shorter than the entire shadow including the ns thing you're showing, but if in fact (which there probably is) a ns cut out above the ball of wire, the shadow's length would make perfect sense. Take a picture of the whole ball with plenty of space above and below it with the same shadow showing or people are going to think you're lying please prove me wrong and make it true that I am in fact an ignorant dick.

yeah it looks like there is a ns cutout attached to the top of the wire. hence the ball of wire does not make that shadow

I understand. OldSchoolers is right.
You can see by the shadow of the wire in relation to the NS shadow that the NS shadow is not made from the wire, but rather an NS cutout on top of the wire.

Fuck this shit, OP is clearly a fake. If you look at the loop in the wire closest to the NS shadow, you can see its shadow right below it. Cant really explain it well, but prove me wrong and I swear I will quit NS forever.
