I definitely agree with everything that person said. It does seem like a step backwards, but I do still want to try it out I suppose. A lot of the thins that left out do not really effect me too much, since most of my videos are for the internet (so I dont grade on an NTSC monitor), and I hardly ever use multicam. If the audio sync really does suck then that will be a BIG downfall for me. Thats not something I wanted to hear :(.
I dont use canon timecode, so something that also doesnt effect me at the moment, but I am sure it will at somepoint.
The way to mute audio thing sounds like its going to be a pain in the ass.
XML is a big deal... do not understand either why its not in there.
No chapter markers does suck but I did that in DVD Studio.
I feel like for someone who produces videos for the internet with solid state media cameras, then its not that bad.
The way I look at it, is its a "prosumer" program.
At least we can all keep FCP 7... bummer its only 32 bit, but its still good. I still want to try out FCP X.
Luckily, the will be updating FCP X every six months, and they said multicam is on the top of their list to get into it.
I imagine that in a year or so, FCP X will be good, but right now I agree.
And yes, I can conform it, but thats different. I sometimes want to shoot an entire project in 60 fps. Something like auto racing, you want 60p the entire time.
Also, FCP 7 doesnt support AVCHD MTS files, so I cant even find something for free that will convert the 1080p60 into ProRes. Im definitely missing something, but the workflow for it seems to be a pain in the ass.
