I'm curious as to what are the chances of prostate cancer spreading if it's spotted and treated early on? The chances of it coming back even after being treated? And how fatal do you think it is if it's very minuscule and treated early on? I tried googling but all I came across was general info. Thanks.
Schools over.. and no, my dad's biopsy results came in and he has it and I was a little worried and curious. And to papa_lanks, I thought I put it straightforward enough? Oh, and I'm obviously not looking for exact percentages, I just want to know if it's highly likely or unlikely.
i feel like an asshole now, my sincerest apologies. through some googling i've found some positive info, i could pm you it if you like. hope everything works out ok
Best of luck to your dad, I seriously hopes he rapes the shit out of it and defeats it quickly. I would like nothing more than to see the day when cancer is eradicated from this planet.
Thank you, and yeah he will. But we should just let this thread die out, I don't want it to turn into a sad thread since I already got the info I was looking for. I'll post back results after he finishes up radiation or surgery.
it would probably be best to consult a real doctor if you being serious... but both my dad and grandpa have had prostate cancer and made it out good as new.
So many men die from it because it goes unchecked until finally being discovered in late stages. If caught early on the treatment's success rate is quite favorable.
Yup, but it's impossible to know, the cancer may have reached some blood vessels (I think) and spread out somewhere else. They acutally test this out when they find a cancer somewhere. But yeah it takes quite some time so if your dad's cancer has been caught early, it probably didn't happened yet. Your dad have great chances of passing through it but you never know.
My dad had the cancer of the intestines and got through it. But as a son, if def. hard to see your dad passing through this. I wish you the best of luck, stay positive and everything is going to be all right!
My grandfather had prostate cancer back in the late 80's, and he survived. It was caught early on. Since then medical technology has come leaps and bounds forward. Hes still going on strong at 84 and I hope you can say the same about your dad. Have faith, and if worse comes to worse, go consult a doctor yourself.
No offense but if i was curious about cancer prognoses I would very simply use google. In the spirit of helping and wishing your father well, as well as giving you honest facts and figures, not anecdotal advice, here are some links.
My mechanics teacher was diagnosed with it about halfway through the school year. He took the rest of the year off, coming in occasionally to visit. I graduated that year, but some buddies who were younger than me said he was back full time the next year. If it was found early the odds are in your pops favor.
