Mr. Pollard's Opus?

I know its a 118 waisted ski, slightly stiffer than the ep, with a long, but low rocker and camber underfoot. Has anyone skied them? How do they perform? Do they actually live up to the speedboat vs tugboat thing? I'm considering getting this ski as a primarily powder ski. I'm 15, 5'9, and 130 lbs. How would this ski float for me? Just general feedback. I'm considering it against the bent chetler and the hellbent, so just advice.....

i own them    its the most versatile ski ep pro yet    they float very well and actually hold a good edge.  I rode them in some pow in sun valley and they were great. Very turny in the trees.  I also rode them in some hard stuff where they surprised the heck out of me.  you can really lay them on edge and have a ton of fun.  Def the favorite line ski i have ever ridden.  pm me if you have any questions

spot on, I got a chance to ski them last February for a bit and they were phenomenal.  Smooth and poppy with tons of edge hold and they float very easily.

I was talking to a guy who said they didn't float very well at all, but he owned hellbents. How do they compare to the feel of those?

you're 130 lbs, the skis are going to have incredible float for you. I'm 180lbs and I tried them, the float was pretty good but hellbents and praxis are better. The ep is much much better all around though.

Dude float on the opus will not be a problem at all. Especially at your weight. But yeah I got the opus and it's super sick. Sellin my cryptos and makin the opus my everyday ski. Only rode em twice so far but their phenomenal. At your weight throw a 2012 griff on it. Peeps are gonna scream jester but ya don't need all that. Hope it works out for ya.

whatever I get, whether it be opus or hellbent, will most likely have fks 140s or sth 14 drivers on them.

And I wouldn't be considering the hellbents next to the opus. I think you were closer with the bent chetlers. The Bents are real sick. Haven't been on next years but I can't imagine it's worse than last years. I've had nothin but problems with k2s. And I know k2 owns line and it doesn't make sense that they would be any different but they just seem way low quality the last six years or so. I'm sure the hellbents would be fine but putting them up against the opus and the bent chetlers it's no contest.

I work in a shop and I was at the onsnow demo this last winter.  From what I got, its definitely  designed for fresh snow that has some depth. It has decent float for a powderday but will be ok if its not super fresh.  Its ment to be able to ride in all conditions, but its not super great in one extreme over another. I did a video interview with one of the reps, this vid may help you out in your decision.

Seriously....how could you even question the float?....you do realize that just a few years back a 90 waisted ski was considered a pow ski right?....the opus is wider than last years bacons and I rode them in waist deep pow and had zero problems with float and I weigh 193....like I said I have the opus and if you look at the tips it's a no brainer it's gonna float perfect...I haven't had the opportunity to ride them in deep pow yet but don't get thrown by the "newer" early rise explanation given at SIA...it's just not as dramatic as earlier ep models to give you more effective edge on the hardpack. But it's still got fatty raised tips and will float over anything.

ive ridden this ski on hardpack in michigan..... it was awesome
Ive ridden this ski in the trees on a powder day in Sun Valley...... It was awesome
Ive even taken it in the pipe just for fun and it surprised the hell out of me 
this ski rips everywhere     enough said

for those of you that have ridden the Opus, where were they mounted? I'm 5'9", 155lbs. Obviously going to be slaying pow when I can, all mountain riding when there's no fresh, staying away from rails. Thinking about mounting -2cm from center, opinions?

Dude I measured it and got input from line.....the midsole line appears to be -2 from dead center....if you were talkin cryptos I'd say yeah mount at least +3 of midsole but on the opus it is right on the sweet spot....I think if you went up much further you would be fightin the tails to turn.
