yeah he posted a pic of him drinking to twitter 4 hours before the crash
yeah he's famous for shoving a toy car up his ass among other stupid shit
yeah speeding is reckless
What he did was stupid and inherently dangerous, and no one here is denying that, but that isn't the point.
As much as you can bitch and moan about how he was an idiot and that he brought it on himself, he is another human being and to not feel sympathy for his friends and family and those who were fans is not only rude but its just plain sociopathic. It's like protesting at a funeral. Don't do it, at least in this thread, let the people who want to mourn and remember do so, keep your opinions to yourself and share them in a different environment.
we want to remember Dunn who was a good man. Hell, him and Steve-O were on minute to win it trying to raise money for special olympics (might be wrong on the charity).
Just remember, many people believe most things in skiing are stupid, dangerous, and the people who do so have deathwishes. If those people were to say those sorts of things about Shane, CR, Arne, Doug, or any other of our fallen heroes you would be pissed off as well.
He is a human, and humans make mistakes. Cant say for certain because I didnt know him but from what it sounds like he was a really good guy, I mean he just was on minute to win it trying to win money for charity... Because of one stupid mistake that Im sure he would be the first to say it was all his fault, shouldn't take away from the fact that he was a great guy..
To everyone bitching about how he deserved it, how about you go tell that to the countless people with lung cancer that gave it to themselves because of smoking.. They made their mistake for numbers of years...
Bad decision on his party. Drinking and driving is never a good thing to do. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends, though. Losing people in such a dumb and tragic fashion is just terrible.
I thought it was kinda weird kinda funny that they confirmed it with April Margera first not like Mrs. or Mr. Dunn or even Bam or Johnny. It kinda shows that Phil and April we like the parents of the whole Jackass group.
You gotta feel bad for everyone involved with Ryan Dunn
My good friend went to middle school / high school with him and was pretty damn close to him. They're friends on fb on his "secret personal page" and I got to look at it. Definitely not a conspiracy.
And about the tweet about him with car parts in his anus... That would normally be a horrible thing to say, but I think if he was here he'd be laughing his anus off about that. Gotta remember him how he lived, making everyone laugh.
please don't say such things about the condor, I think he'd have more sense than that. I see hoffman as the type of guy that would lay a backhand up side someones head for driving like that. He was crazy on a bike, but I always saw him as a controlled respectable fella.
Agreed. I laughed at that, then felt bad for laughing, then realized he would probably have seen the humor in it, too. RIP, you were one entertaining dude.
And the whole drunk driving at over 100 is stupid but it's still a fucking shame, especially for the people he (they?) left behind.
Just because someone dies, doesn't mean the get my 'respect', be it McConkey, CR or any ther well-known skier who has passed away in the late years. It is what they've done that may invoke the mourning and respect towards someone's death - both McC and CR died doing something they loved and they knew the risks.
Dunn's passing... at the moment, who knows what happened. Just because he's gone doesn't earn any 'respect' from me, such a stupid play on words. It's always sad to see an entertainer go.
and youre completely missing the point, it's not that people expect you to respect him for the fact that he died. the whole point is you should respect his life as a person DESPITE his death and your feelings toward the way it happened.
one (very stupid, irresponsible) mistake does not overwrite and outweigh a life full of being a great person, friend, entertainer, etc. period. to write him off and say he deserves no respect is a simple-minded, immature categorical that has no place in a thread about his death 12 hours after the fact.
i know we're on the internet and there's hardly any accountability but some of you need to learn some respect
I respect him and i think he was a funny guy who did awesome stuff! But he drove a car when he was drunk and that's not cool. What if he crashed in to a car with a whole family in instead? Not so funny!
well well...very sad that it still happened of course...
The thing is, I didn't know him, as netiher did most of you. I'm not going to talk shit about him, but I didn't 'respect' him before and I won't respect him now that he's gone. Simple as that.
ASIDE that fact, of course it's awful that he died like that, and also the person who went with him.
well considering brogan and the girl who was driving in his accident were both drunk, and it hasnt even been confirmed if ryan dunn was drunk, let alone the driver of the car, i think im justified in my comments.
