What should I do?

I'm getting free 179 Hellbents brand new this upcoming fall. I'm pretty stoked, but here comes the real question. Should I keep them, or sell them and buy chetlers, caylors, or pollards opuses? I'm 5'9", 130 lbs, expert skier, like to go fast and take big drops, but also like to butter and jib around. This would be used almost exclusively for powder days and backcountry trips, but I don't want death on the way back to the lift. They would be mounted probably with fks 140s or sth 14 drivers at -1 or -2 from true center. Thanks.

i have a friend just like you and he likes his hellbents but has said a different ski would be nicer. if your going to be dropping cliffs and suck i would get a stiifer pow ski like the JJ or any of the skis you listed above.

Just use them, at your weight they won't be too soft, and can you really be bothered to go through the selling / buying process for such similar skis?

I personally liked the hellbents but k2 fucked the dimensions. I don't care what they say, the old ones were much more versatile and the new width gives them a very slow edge to edge. They do, however plow through crud nicely due to the rocker. They are not really that jib by in comparison to ep pros but they are still good in that area. Overall they would be good for you but go elsewhere if you want a charger. And fuck k2 for ruining a great ski. If you can find the old ones, buy them. Other than hellbents I've heard cahoots are great.

i ride EP pros and i've heard they're very similar to the hellbents in handling....

they do all right everywhere as long as it's not ice and you're not going really fast....

in the end i too think a stiffer ski would've been better for me, something like bentchetlers looks kinda perfect for me, but none the less, i love my ep pros and they are by far the most fun i've ever had on a ski !
