Out here in the boring, flat, aluminum handrail filled state known as Pennsylvania, our snow seasons are so short lived that winter seems to come and go in the blink of an eye. With a season thats basically only 4 months long (from december to march not counting mayday at big boulder) its tough out here for serious skiiers and snowboarders alike.
Obviously summer set ups are a popular thing for the riders on here so i thought this would be good to share. Halfway through my first semester this past year i heard about this place called park 1260. This super chill oldhead skiier, Chris Allen built a real sick summer set up in his backyard with a legitimate flat box and a couple other rails (A-frame, double barrel, up flat box).
He puts on rail jams at his house's backyard set up about every 2 weeks, blasts good music, cooks good food, and sends out low key invites that bring in chill people with good vibes that love to ride. It was definitely one of the coolest things i've come across as backyard set ups and the whole thing he's got going on is super rad.
Just wanted to see if anyone did stuff like this with their set ups or know of places that do.
The next rail jam is this monday at 5pm and he's got another one coming up july 5th.
If you live around the poconos and are trying to check it out it definitely wont be something that you would regret.
www.twelve60.com is his site if you wanna look into it more or see pics/vids of the place.
Much love, and keep the summer shred alive for those that don't have the opportunity to travel to places with year round snow.
