handbrake if you want to convert it to a file to watch on your computer, mac the ripper if you want to rip it so you can put it on a new blank dvd

i'm trying to use handbrake right now, but it's saying no valid source found.. what am i supposed to be selecting? the disk? one of the files in the disk? there are .IFOs, .BUPs, .VOBs..

alright a higher up dude i sort of work for asked me to take a couple DVDs of his and copy them, so i need to rip them.. are there any cheap but legit programs out there for this? or should i just use a free one? i had a bit of trouble with handbrake for whatever reason..

handbrake or mactheripper. you can do everything you need with those. Sounds like you need mactheripper.
if you can't use these programs, you should probably just tell the guy you work for that you failed.

this is a side project, apart from anything i do normally at work. i glanced at it for 2 seconds at lunch and it didn't instantly recognize the video files on the DVD..

alright so here's the problem...
handbrake- the DVD apparently has new code that handbrake can't understand or deal with so it says no valid source found
mactheripper- sort of the same thing as far as i can tell, it's having trouble with new copy protection on the DVDs. people on forums said that version 3 or something, which you have to donate for (fine, ill do it), can deal with it but i cant seem to find a good place to do so
by the way the DVDs are not hollywood ones theyre just ones made by another scientist with their computer
so if anyone can help me, PLEASE do so it's much appreciated and im not really sure where to go from here and i need to get most of this done today, completely done by tomorrow
