What are you here for? Go check out some Smithsonian museums. Natural History is the best imo. The monuments are always crowded but they're pretty cool too, Lincoln and WW2 are my favorites. If that's not what you're really trying to do, go to Georgetown or Adams Morgan, those are some cool places to hang out and shop or eat or whatever there's plenty to do there.

Oh well I guess when I go to DC it's usually to hang out in Georgetown or Adams Morgan like I said, or I'll go to the zoo. Get food, hang out, whatever. I've lived here for 17 years and I still go to the monuments and museums fairly frequently. Definitely something to do while you're here. That's sick about the White House though.

i live in DC and i still havent seen the monuments and shit except for the national spy museum just take the metro to the Verizon center then the spy museum is a minute walk
legit its right there.

Also check the surrounding towns like Alexandria, Bethesda etc etc


Lastly go to Pentagon City mall that place is sick to

btw dont go to georgetown cupcakes
down the street is baked and wired 10x better cupcakes and the only reason georgetown cupcakes is popular is because obama went there once

you kidding? the pumpkin spice cupcake from Georgetown is hella bomb, one of my favorites in the city. but baked and wired is legit, their cupcakes are big and sick. but the best red velvet is at the bakery at pennsylvania and M, right next to cafe tu o tu ( which is a bomb Mediterranean spot)

also, old towne alexandra is super nice

If you're into live music at all check out the U-street area. 930 club has all sorts of acts, mostly rock/folk/hip hop, black cat has more indie bands and dance music, and U-st music hall (probably my favorite) has a bumpin ass sound system and all the crazy dubstep dj's the kids are listening to these days. Crash some college parties at Foggy Bottom, hit up bars in Georgetown or Adams Morgan, see all the really big shit that people go to see. DC is a fun place. If you're gonna be there 4th of July weekend and are looking for something to do shoot a pm my way.

more chill places- h street- the neighborhood next to the marine academy- cross the river into alexandria- take a weekday and just go walk the Mall, bring sunscreen and a good pair of shoes and you can get a ton of shit done- plus everything happens around the mall-

i went there for a school trip 2 years ago now that i look back it was a fun trip but i dont know if i'd go back again. go to the lincoln memorial and look at the back of his head, hidden secret..... ooooohh
