Im thinking about moving to govy this upcoming winter and staying though next summer, how do you find apartments and places for rent there? i've scowled the internet trying to find anything and i have been unsuccessful. im looking for just a small 1 br apartment, or studio. it would just be myself.
any help from some locals would be greatly appreciated.

my friends used craigslist for renting a house in govy for the past 2 summers and didnt have any problems. also try Sandy or Welches.

This, I dont know why you would want to live in govy... Other than it's relative location to tline, the town itself really sucks.

There are a few different management companies with houses in Govy. Check out "An Oregon Experience" and "Mountain Retreats," they both manage properties in Government Camp.
A cheap place to get rooms is the Palmer Lodge in Govy. Very sparse rooms for rent cheap, I think they're 200/month.
Another option is the Summit Apartments. It's Govy's dive housing but some of them have been completely refurbished and are sporting flatscreens and whatnot. 500/mo for a single or 600/mo for a double. Contact Collins Lake Resort.

those are probably your best bets in govy. also try some areas around Welches like Timberline Rim, from there it's a 25-30 mins away from timberline, 5 min drive to windells, and a bikable distance (2 miles on the road) to some super good mountain biking aswell (sandy ridge). tim rim is a pretty strict neighborhood though, so you cant really do anything crazy there without angry neighbors. but other than that it is a pretty chill place.

honestly, living in govy, during the winter is a pretty boring place. Everyone just goes to the mountain then just goes right back into Portland. Govy is only really busy and cool in the summer. Personally, I would say go some where else for winter (colorado, utah, cali), and come here for summer riding. Winter on hood is nothing amazing.

I'll be back next winter, but I definitely recommend Welches. I lived there last winter and had a pretty epic experience. Govy in the winter is super boring unless you're just getting trashed, if thats the case you'll love it. Also remember that Government Camp is on federal land, and therefore have different laws regarding certain plants, if that so happens to be something you partake in. Just FYI

yea, since the cops are in govy all the time. also, i wouldnt recommend moving there in the winter unless you are an aspiring alcoholic, as thats all that anyone does in the winter.
