147 pages in the 2010-11 Thread. Here start's next season.

Now the season's over, Boston has the cup for the summer, but it's all up for grabs come autumn. Bump it through the slow summer months as transactions occur

Oh, and to start some tradition: LOL @ Anaheim.

It isn't locked down yet, not by a longshot. 2 pts up with 3 games remaining.

Basically if the Caps make the playoffs they can thank Matt "The Paralyzer" Hendricks's shootout prowess. That move is just unkind to goalies.

At this point, I'm not extremely confident. The games against Dallas are critical for making the playoffs (makes it easier after they just lost to Vancouver - thank you, by the way). The games against LA are even huger for winning the conference at this point - seeing as their road prior to that home and home is a very easy one with some easy contests in the fold.

My only hope is San Jose beats dallas, Dallas or phoenix somehow tank, and the sharks can land a 7/8 seed. I'll concede the conference at this point with how LA has stepped up their game (I figured they could likely take it at the beginning of the season, anyways - not too surprised)

At this point, I really couldn't care who SJ plays in the playoffs - I can only hope they make it.

and the hawks clinch a playoff spot! thank fucking god they pulled the game out of their ass tonight against nashville. up 4-0, and then give up 4 unanswered goals to tie the game. fortunately they pulled one more out of their ass to take a 5-4 lead and win the game.

Sean, you actually owe the Canucks more thanks than you know - in the past 2 weeks they have beaten Dallas twice, the Kings once, and eliminated the Avalanche from contending for a spot - so at least you don't have to worry about those guys.

Sharks still need to sweep this series, win at least one against the Kings and hope the Stars lose which isn't impossible since they play the Preds and Blues at the end. Coyotes have Columbus, St. Louis and Minnesota. Should be 4 easy points, in theory.

Canucks back to 1st in the West - didn't think that was going to happen. I guess when you win 6 straight, things go your way in the standings. 3 more and maybe they get the President's again.

Yep. I have said for weeks 94 points = playoffs. Now things get REALLY interesting with Vancouver taking 1st in the west. Makes 7th and 8th more trivial thats for sure.

4 points for the sharks now? completely do-able. a loss from the kings, and some poor play from phx and dallas could also help immensely. Things are beyond interesting, and anyone could be out just as easily as they could be facing chicago. Game on.

Oh, and yes. thanks Vancouver. haha. I was well aware of their dominance over the west recently.

Feeling very good. Only need 1 win in the next 4 games. Plus we're playing the Islanders. after winning against Pittsburgh and Phili this should be an easy win.

the red sox went 86 years without winning the world series, more than twice that of vancouver going without the cup, so yeah, riots were abound throughout the state of massachusetts, i think the tension hadn't built up as much for the bruins, also the b's went in to the cup as a big time underdog, no one really expected them to win, but it was just joy throughout the state when they did.

Agreed. Tons of action, very spirited, fast paced. This is gonna be a great series. Look at simmonds in there throwing punches after using his nose to score on Saturday haha.

#whitetrashgirlproblems... Yeah she sounds like a real keeper there, and not at all like an unbearable, ditzy moron. Whatever, Looch can do what he wants, but you have to wonder, it's not like girls like that are hard to find when you're a multimillionaire sports star.

I saw that too, basically the story was casting it as a catfight notwithstanding that only one of the cats was actually fighting. Girl needs to avoid twitter at all costs, that's just embarassing. I can't imagine how much trolling and flaming she got from various Canucks fans in response to that. Wouldn't be surprised if people were threatening to do unspeakable things to the purse dog I assume she must have.

Alright. This seems to be the place to ask this. I'm writing a multi-page research paper for English on the topic of concussions in hockey, the dangers of them, why some end careers and the steps the leagues are taking to prevent them and my teacher raised a very good point. When you look at past players that had their careers such as the lindros' brothers and marc savard, Do they ever get compensated for not carrying out their contracts due to career ending injuries?
