147 pages in the 2010-11 Thread. Here start's next season.

Now the season's over, Boston has the cup for the summer, but it's all up for grabs come autumn. Bump it through the slow summer months as transactions occur

Oh, and to start some tradition: LOL @ Anaheim.

bruins are just painful to watch at this point they;ve been outscored 21-8 in the last four games. Where is this defense that was tighter than a 10 year old? They've been very exposed as of late, and have looked insanely terrible during transition out of their own end and through the neutral zone

Thomas looks tired as shit, that rask injury was just brutal timing because htye had been riding timmy for so long and now he wont get much rest at all with under a dozen games left in the regular season

Aside from all of the injuries this is a bad time for the bruins to start shitting the bed

Could? Absolutely. I am predicting otherwise. However it might not even happen given the 4 pt game yesterday. Win streak can't continue forever but if they close strong they can take NYC. Rangers don't look very good right now... same disease afflicting BOS, VAN, DET.

Anyway "playoff preview" just never really rings true to me. The playoffs are different. A regular season game does not provide an effective preview. Sometimes it can be close to "playoff style hockey" but you never know if both teams will really bring their A game.

I'm with JD(erp) here. The last thing the Flyers want is to have a series with the Pens right now. If they do meet I predict at least a 6 game grinder, but I don't really like the momentum the Pens are riding into the playoffs right meow. Either way the Flyers are going to get a shit first series, be it the Rags or the Pens.

Teams in the Western Conference who I think would be favoured to beat the Senators in a series:

STL, VAN, NSH, DET, CHI, SJS, LAK and mayyyyybe DAL. And they'd be the East's 2nd seed?!

You may be able to, hell anyone can beat anyone. A healthy line up for the pens though is extremely dangerous in a 7 game series. Pretty much every team is saying the same thing hell the gm from the rangers said it before the game yesterday, the Pens are going to be the team to beat in the playoffs if everyone is healthy.

using comin sense... when a conference has a bunch of really close teams that means the teams are better and play each other a lot harder making the wins and losses more even. When you have 2 or 3 teams just crushing it and way higher than other teams that shows they are the dominators and that the other teams are far weaker.

I dunno I could be wrong but thats what my common sense tells me.

Maybe you can explain to me how my logic is flawed?? I mean I feel like the west always has a team that reaches the 100 point mark before the east and to me that just shows they are playing weaker opponents.

the east has won 6 of the last 11 stanley cups. Now that is close and could change this year and there would be a tie. 50/50 over the last 12 cups but as of right now the numbers dont lie and hell really you cant say either conference is better. the numbers say the east is better but it really says its too close to call.

I am really late on this but i thought Crosby did great last night, for someone who hasnt played since december going +3 is great.




however i think this could hurt the pens in the long run, they had great chemistry with their lines and crosby sort of throws a wrench into things.


also Gino was taking a beating last night.

This is bullshit. The playoffs in the West are an absolute war. Coming out of that conference you're at a huge disadvantage. Basically any team besides Detroit that wins the Campbell always seems to be on crutches.

As for the above, yes those 4 teams would be greatly favoured but the others I listed would still beat the Sens. Or if the Sens won it'd be an upset. I would take the 10th place team in the west right now over Ottawa. I would not take the 10th place team over Dallas although in this case it happens to be Buffalo who are in a similar spot as the Kings (good team that hasn't played up to ability) so I guess it'd probably be a good series at least. The Dallas comparison isn't really accurate, Dallas is the Western Conference's version of the Panthers right now.

Anyway I DO hope the Sens win that division. They'd still have to play Boston so it'd be a tough first round series and you'd have to think no matter what happens the next 12 games the Bruins would be favoured. Think about the road to the cup finals the Sens would have - Boston, then probably Pittsburgh, then probably NYR? Damn son. That would contradict my original point above if that happened.

Meh- it was a Pens-Flyers game.... they always have and always will be extremely dirty games. That being said, it's no excuse for faking an injury, etc, etc, but I don't think you can extrapolate his actions in this one game to his style of playing. Everyone was heated and angry.

I'm in the "Cooke for Lady Byng" camp. That trophy is meaningless unless you start giving it to dudes who make meaningful strides in playing within the rules or contribute somehow. Giving it to the guy who produces without taking any penalties is a waste, no one cares.
