147 pages in the 2010-11 Thread. Here start's next season.

Now the season's over, Boston has the cup for the summer, but it's all up for grabs come autumn. Bump it through the slow summer months as transactions occur

Oh, and to start some tradition: LOL @ Anaheim.

I just noticed something random that blew my mind..
Why is the camera on the opposite side at the rexall place? It's weird and for some reason it bothers me.

That Budaj Subban handshake was so awkward. I think Price felt like he was being cheated on.

And yeah I only noticed the camera view after the announcers mentioned it. It's kind of cool though.

much better game by the Canucks tonight results in a well earned win over Winnipeg.

Pahlsson with the game winner - beauty! Kesler returned to beast mode, and I thought Higgins and Hansen had strong games.

Still concerned about the Sedins though.

I'm impressed that Pacioretty scored his 30th goal; it's his first full NHL season and he's coming back from a serious injury.

Losing the game would have been good for the tanking but I can live with it..

In other news, the flyers are looking great right now in spite of quite a few injuries. 5-0 to stomp the panthers last night, bryz's second shutout in little more than a week. Top scoring team in the league and over half our goals this season are by rookies. I don't know if we got the consistency to go all the way but it's sure fun as hell watching this team right now.

Only saw the first period last night, was super pissed I missed two rinaldo fights, what a scrapper.

Now I just wish those damn penguins would take a loss or two. Well we see em three more times before the end of the season, so maybe we can help out with that.

I would really appreciate it if SJ beats Dallas. Avs need as much help as they can get. Also Im loving Mcginn so far. Six points (4g/2a) in the last three games. Dudes on fire.

Wow, that's awesome that he's been fitting in so well so quickly... He didnt have very much of a chance to get ahead in San Jose's system. Colorados totally serves his single tool style better. I've been really stoked on what I've seen with Winnik and Galiardi so far too. They haven't exactly produced points as much, but damn they've been hard working as shit if I must say so.

...I really scratched my head as to why we scratched Galiardi last night though.

I find it funny how the sens did what Burke was supposed to do with the leafs. Instead they took a couple of months, while the leafs still haven't made the playoffs after 4 years of Burke's reign. It's laughable..

I think they can get by Edmonton at least. It would be funny if something like the Gagner incident occurred again. That was rock bottom for the Hawks when they were on their big losing streak.

Rematch against the devils tonight. Can someone explain to a noob why the hell you wouldn't play your currently hot high paid "star" goalie against a team that you're neck and neck with in the standings??? I mean I didn't see the whole game on sunday, it looked like some good goals and not totally bobs fault but really???? Bryz seems to be on fire, why put it your backup??

Hope we can rebound tonight as we could use a couple points.


Oh and fuck tcn and comcast in general. Live 40 minutes from philly, can't watch tonight on local cable. Guess I'm going to the bar.

I actually don't like that deployment strategy - against a trap team one bad goal can be fatal. Against a more wide-open team, you can outscore some problems.  I'd rather play the better guy against the stingier team.

On another note, David Poile is a GM magician, having now acquired a quality top-line forward AFTER the deadline for nothing... when they started beefing up with Gill and Gaustad and added scoring in Kostitsyn, everyone I know was somewhat surprised in that "hey, the Preds are clearly gearing up to take a run at this thing this year", because we all figured them for a dark horse. Maybe this was intended to be the cornerstone of the cup run.

Be afraid, Detroit Red Wings.

The night before trade deadline I had a dream that they traded AK46 for the rights of Radulov.. Unfortunately it was all a dream.

I wonder if they would have accepted Gill + Kostitsyn for Radulov. Probably not, but back then Radulov didn't show any interest in returning to the NHL, so it would have been a pretty risky trade.

Anyways.. I wonder how he is going to pan out in the NHL.

Pan out?? He was pretty good in the NHL already... Anyway it's in his court, he might not decide to come back. Or he could just come back for the playoffs and then go back to the KHL next season.

So, predictions as to who makes the playoffs? Here are my projected standings. I have gone out on a couple of limbs.

WEST

1.STL

2. VAN

3. SJS

4. NSH

5. DET

6. DAL

7. CHI

8. PHX

... Because the Hockey Gods can't resist a Canucks - Hawks series. And I think the Sharks win both their remaining games vs. the Stars to pull their own asses out of the fire.

EAST

1. PIT

2. BOS

3. FLA

4. NYR

5. NJD

6. PHI

7. OTT

8. BUF

I just really want to see the Sabres pull this one off. In my heart I think they make it. In my head it's probably Washington. Which honestly would be a decent series regardless of whether they play the Pens or the Rangers given the role-reversal from last year when the Rags were 8th.

Just did some research and it does appear Radulov is good to play in the playoffs if he returns. There was talk he would have to clear waivers but that is not the case.

JD - Really really hope the Canucks don't get Chicago in the first round....would love someone 'weaker' in the mold of Colorado/Dallas/Phoenix/Calgary.

Pretty pumped on the 2 seed though as it will keep us away from Nashville that much longer

I agree that NYR will drop down. They are told to block all shots and sacrifice the body; this took out Ocallahan and if they continue to hurt themselves they will no longer be a playoff team.

AND BREAKING NEWS SIDNEY CROSBY WILL PLAY THURSDAY

On the whole this looks good.

I'm going to rearrange the east though.
1. NYR

8. WSH (though we could see a surprise with BUF/potentially the jets?)

While I like JD's because it makes for some interesting match ups, this is a little more probable.
