147 pages in the 2010-11 Thread. Here start's next season.

Now the season's over, Boston has the cup for the summer, but it's all up for grabs come autumn. Bump it through the slow summer months as transactions occur

Oh, and to start some tradition: LOL @ Anaheim.

happy to see Carcillo get 7 games. too bad he didnt get life, the guy is a fucking diving, dirty, pussy ass useless piece of shit and shouldnt be in the NHL.

john tortorella got a 30k fine for his comments on the reffing, definitely a bit much. just because you're an NHL coach doesnt mean you should have to give up your right to free speech.

yeah love how all the pink hat fans are once again coming out of the wood work because at the bottom of sportscenter this morning they saw it read BOS 9 CAL 0...its calgary people they arent even a .500 team and we started the game against their backup

that being said, it was good to see the b's not let off the throttle in what could have easily been a gap game between the devils/canucks

Holy hell, great game against chicago last night. 4-2 late in the third and chicago ties it up with 2 in like a minute and a half. JVR scores his second of the night to take the lead back and win it. How bout fuckin scotty hartnell with just as many goals as giroux and a 7 game point streak, lovin that curly haired dude right about now. Good to see JVR come alive finally. Not gonna lie, chicago had me scared there at the end.

Home and home against the sens starting this weekend.

pink hat or not, i think it's pretty cool that boston is stoked on hockey again. besides, 9 goals is 9 goals. how can you not be excited about that? we put 3 on their starting goalie as well and hung 6 on brodeur two nights ago. this team is impressive, giving new fans a reason to take notice.

Don't get your hopes up. The Canucks are historically AWFUL in matinee games and this is a matinee on the Eastern time zone. There is no game more perfectly designed to fuck with your equilibrium. Remember last year they went out there and played a nooner at Carolina, who were in the basement at that point and had lost like 8 out of 9 or something ridiculous like that and we got shelled?  It may sound pessimistic but I'd be shocked if they didn't play flat, especially since they've been on a sort of highs-and-lows tip the last 5 games or so. I don't think this is going to be the top-flite matchup it's being billed as.

Boston has so much momentum right now, honestly i'm stoked to play the Canucks, I'm pretty sure the bruins will take the win but i am certainly not writing off Vancouver.

While a 9-0 is more of a fluke than anything, you can't disregard this. Kippersoff gave up 3 games in 30-something minutes which is enough to decide most games. The bruins were more possessed than usual last night. Either they found an extra gear or Calgary was just incredibly slow and the turnovers and passes. Thank god no one took out their frustration with the score on another player.


Forward looking to Saturday: This is the most overhyped regular season game of the season. Sure they're the top teams, year after an exciting stanley cup final series, blah, blah. I read a ridiculous Vancouver blog last night about the five things the canucks had to do to win which seemed to give no credit to the top scoring offense and top defense and put the entire game on whether Vancouver wanted to go to the rink. It attributed all of loungo's Boston woes to complete flukey as well.


As JD said, Vancouver playing at 9 hours earlier than usual. Pfft, they are fucked based on that. There is some much routine in hockey. The bruins are only playing 6 hours earlier than usual and they've been in boston for days. Thats the biggest difference going into the next game.

luongo still scared of playing in boston?? why is their #1goalie not getting the start after posting a shutout?

I dont want to hear any weak excuses about playing a few hours early..if your making all that money you should be able to sack up and play against the second ranked team in the NHL, unless he's still a little butt hurt about last stanley cup finals..

i understand it is the coaches call..but i distinctly remember last year lunongo demanding to stay in games he should have been pulled in does he not have that influence anymore?

Im confused why vigneault wouldnt play the hot hand in his number #1 net minder who really needs a good showing against the team that dismantled him last season. This should have been a test for lou given the recent history and how well boston is playing... he shouldnt be sheltered. It sounds like vigneault is protecting his head case goalie from getting shelled again down in boston playing against thomas

Because Schneider is easily as good or better than Luongo is.
Because Luongo got lit up in every game at that building last year and he is definitely a headcase.
Because Schneider hasn't started more games in a row than usual.
Because Scheider will be playing in front of friends and family (+motivation).
Because Scheider is undefeated (1-0) all-time in afternoon (morning?) games.
Because the Canucks want to WIN.
