147 pages in the 2010-11 Thread. Here start's next season.

Now the season's over, Boston has the cup for the summer, but it's all up for grabs come autumn. Bump it through the slow summer months as transactions occur

Oh, and to start some tradition: LOL @ Anaheim.

Fucking eastern conference. The fact that either of those teams are in the playoff fight at this stage after how bad they've been is... frustrating. Meanwhile there are 5 teams in the west that would be 2nd place or better in the east. My Nucks are 9-1-0 in their last 10 games and are sitting in 6th. Ridiculous. Then again the Pacific division is apparently just as bad.

As far as Minny goes, I don't think anyone thought this would last so long. 7 game winning streak? Really? I mean no one will believe it until about 60 games in I'm sure, because who knows what happens after the all star break. But If you're like me you're beginning to have your doubts about the Canucks winning their 5th division title in 6 years.

The Northwest division is a pretty good argument for attrition over the regular season. For most of its years it was one of the toughest divisions in the league (only recently has it gone all suck). And since last realignment (1998) it has only produced one cup champ, as opposed to four from the Central and 2 from the Pacific.

Ya I agree that shit gets out of hand but hell, he just scored a goal why cant he shoot at the net or goalie.. Now I do think it was kind of a weak goal to do the sniper celebration... like if had a sick snipe or some sick dangle and scored that would be worth shooting the goalie but he just slammed the puck in the net.

BTW SIDNEY CROSBY IS A PUSSY. HE IS OUT WITH NO TIMETABLE AGAIN.. I DONT FEEL BAD BUT NOT 100 I WANT TO BE FEELING 100 PERCENT WHEN I COME BACK.

its a full contact fucking sport if you play in more than 3 games straight you probably wont feel 100% the rest of the year. grow a set pussy, im from pittsburgh and im over this shit. Malkin had full knee reconstruction and he is back with no problems now. Fuckin BIG BEN breaks his damn ankle in half at the beginning of a football game and he has back by mid game with that bitch taped up.

Thanks, I wanted to say it when he missed the game against the flyers, but I didn't see the hit from his teammate. Feels good to hear a pittsurghian say it though.

In other head injury news, giroux went out and didn't come back in the third on saturday after taking a flying knee to the head from simmonds. I don't mind seeing him sit out one period though when we're already ahead.

you dont get it, a head injury is not a knee injury or an ankle injury and should not by any means be treated the same. give him the time he needs to come back, look what happened to Savard returning early. he took another hit to the head and hes never going to play again. is he a pussy? no fucking chance. and Paul Kariya, he returned but he was just never the same after his one bad concussion

and the hit from the teammate is not what did it, he didnt even bump his head on that one. it was the follow through from a check earlier in the game, the hit from the teammate was clearly a wake up call though. Don Cherry explained it well, "sidney crosby could see someone drop a quarter in the stands, so for him to miss a player right in front of him, well theres gotta be something wrong."

something like that, anyways give him his time, hopefully its not another savard.

Ya, I agree that it would be sad to see Sid miss 3+ games every time he gets a little headache, however, like was said above, there is a lot at stake when it comes to head injuries. Crosby is a franchise player; he knows it, the coaches know it, the fans know it, hell I bet even kids in England who have never seen a hockey game in their lives know it. That's why everyone is trying to protect him from suffering a possibly career-ending injury. If the Pens were struggling due to his absence so far this season, I know for a fact he would be fighting through the pain and putting it all out there. However, the Pens, even without the help of their poster boy Sidney Crosby, have been able to stay near the top of the table throughout the entire season. Knowing the risks involved with coming back too early from an injury like his, it would be extremely stupid of him to put his career on the line while his team are able to get wins without him. That's the way I see it anyways.

I agree with you all, I was just a little butt hurt when I heard the news.

The thing about him seeing a quarter drop in the stands and him missing a player and running into him so he must have a head issues is a little bit of bull I think. I was at this game, watched it happen live. Nothing either player could do, they both just went to make sharp turns and bam they both were right there. It wasnt something him being a little off caused. Maybe it did... but seeing it live I highly doubt that.

That really sucks, it seems like this might be a serious problem for Crosby and I hate to see it cause in my opinion he really is the best player in the league. In other news, Hodgson is supposed to play tommorow against CBJ, hope this isn't rushing, but he is apparently fine.

you ever had a head injury? Shit is no joke.

I've played an entire season with a broken bone in my ankle, torn my hamstring, torn quadricep tendon, torn my rotator cuff, broke my clavicle, broken my nose twice among various other things and nothing scares me more than the few concussions i've been subjected too

the difference with a brain injury is you can never tell when its fully healed like you can a broken bone or torn muscle..look at some old boxers, hockey/football players with history of concussions - they are borderline retarded

the last thing you would want as an nhl fan is for him to come back, take an unlucky shot to the head and have it ruin the rest of his career (a la marc savard)

i'm not even that big of a fan of sid, but i completely respect his call to sit it out...head injuries are no fuckin joke and i dont view this as a pussy move at all

No biggie, probably just gonna pick him up a knock off winter classic jersey or something.

So the print shop I work for is doing a small job for a vendor down near philly. Something caught my eye on the table here at work, just about shit my pants when I noticed it was Press Passes for the Media Skate on the winter classic rink three days before the event. There is also a stack there for the Event Ceremonies on the field after the classic. Really tempted to cut one out and try to make it onto the field. Actually though I'll probably just snag a 4-up uncut sheet and frame it or something. Just a little souvenir from the year the classic came to philly.

Does anyone know anything about bringing DSLR's to a game? On the Bell Centre website it says cameras are forbidden but ive seen ppl in there with cameras before; they were smaller point-and-shoot type of digital cameras though so im wondering if it would be a bigger deal if someone brought a DSLR. I tried calling them but they put me on hold for 15 minutes so I said fuck it.

Trying to weasel some flyers tickets from my buddies brother. We're sitting at the bar watching the game the other night when he casually states that his bro has season tickets. I tell him we should buy a pair from him and go see a game......."where are the seats?" I ask. " Oh like behind the goal 5 rows up"

I just about spit out my beer and fell off the bar stool at the same time.

I gotta get on this.

Hockey dudes in the know, do season tickets include playoff games or does it depend how you buy em??
