147 pages in the 2010-11 Thread. Here start's next season.

Now the season's over, Boston has the cup for the summer, but it's all up for grabs come autumn. Bump it through the slow summer months as transactions occur

Oh, and to start some tradition: LOL @ Anaheim.

wild beat the predators tonight...five game win streak again.

I'm going to just enjoy being the number one team in the NHL for a while even if it was our 21st game of the season.

yup. We've won 10 of our last 12 and we still have 3 more games in this homestand. I have no idea what the fuck Pikka Rinne was doing when we scored our 3rd goal though.

Bruins are bears, but blackhawks refers to native americans (and is a really racist team name / icon but what are you going to do), and no, the Red Wing is not a bird, it is some sort of spoked wheel with a wing on it. No one has the slightest clue what the hell a Red Wing is. Of all teams in the NHL,

Animal names in NHL: Penguins, Bruins, Coyotes, Sharks, Ducks, Panthers, Predators.

Personally I think the "Lightning" is the dumbest name in the league.

I think Ducks is a pretty dumb name as well. it was fucking awesome when they were the mighty ducks, sickest logo too, but now theyre just... ducks...

Uh no it's not at all, that logo is pretty lame actually. Lots of better ones. Sabres' is my favourite, now that they've mercifully laid to rest the Buffaslug.

The buffaslug was hilarious, I hope buffalo doesn't change their logo once again.

Probably one of the worst logo is this year's lightning logo, it looks like a gatorade add.

well yeah teh big native guy as their logo kinda gives that away, I was just pointing out that hawk is a bird. didnt know that about the red wings though. even though neither are specifically named after animals they got some reference to them in their names, i was just pointing that out.

the new habs home jerseys are the best jerseys in the league imo. the logo is cool and i just love the colors. frenchy that retro shit is alright but defs not better than the new ones (in my opinion anyways, if you think they are its all good brotha) and dingo, the fact that they were named after a disney movie is what made it fucking awesome

I wish they would bring back a 3rd jersey. Either the white with the blue line in the center; which is basically the exact opposite of our current home jersey, or the barber shop jersey.

the current B's sweaters are the sexiest in the game no question, and theyve won 10 straight so hot right now...gunna be a hell of a game tomorrow, tough wings team, cant wait.

PS why do the old habs jerseys have an 'A' in the C and the newer ones an 'H', i always thought the H stood for Habitants but whats the A?

The H is for Hockey. like Canadiens Hockey.

And i think the A stood for CA like canada.... i am not positive on that one though, my best guess.

For marketing purposes the Jets had to create a new logo. But they're old logo was amazing. So many people in Winnipeg with the retro jersey. One of the best IMHO

the team used to be called Club Athletique Canadien (Canadian Athletic Club) and they changed it to Club de Hockey Canadien (Canadian Hockey Club), hence the CA which then became the CH. The H actually doesnt stand for Habs.

Yes they are. Nice, simple and perfect. I got an authentic horton away jersey and wear it literally every single game.


And despite how much i hate them, I have to say that the Habs jerseys are awesome looking. The blue white and red combo looks great.

True, I didn't think of that. I meant like the ones where there's actually a picture of an animal like the panthers, penguins, sharks etc.

Also why can't the senators be part of the original 6? or original 7 i guess. they're using all the old logos and everything

Senators-founded 1990



original six are all pre-1940s. The original teams of the nhl. Hence the original bit of their name.

Of course I know what the original 6 are... I'm talking about the senior Ottawa Senators that predate the NHL. Is there something I'm missing or did you just not know about this or something?

And here's the wikipedia page on them. Apparently they were founded in 1883.
