Now the season's over, Boston has the cup for the summer, but it's all up for grabs come autumn. Bump it through the slow summer months as transactions occur

oh hell ya. bruins streamed a game online the other day I was able to watch, wish I could've seen tonights game vs. the habs, instead of following it via twitter. can't wait till thursday, at least i'll be able to watch that game on tv! also curious to see who's gonna make it to the big club. few question marks still.

Hey I've been to philly and that's actually a pretty safe assumption.

I was actually asking a question more than making an assumption though. I've not spent much time in canadia and wonder what the vibe is up there. I've certainly seen some fan boners down here in the past watching philly sports teams, but nothing quite as blatantly racist as that. Also wondering if black players catch shit in hockey more than other sports from some of you fellas that have played, I mean lets be honest there aren't really many of em at the professional level. Anywho, guess this is more of a place to talk about the game, the play, the players, the rules, the commercials, stats, stupid fan memes, but oh no not a news story about something that happened during a game. Forgive me. I'll default back to my extremely uneducated yet overexcited support of my local team now as usual.


Lookin forward to another televised pre season game tonight. Rangers I'm pretty sure. Interested to see how jagr does, being a hockey fan of only the past few years I don't have much experience watching the old dude. He scored last game versus detroit though so that's a good start. Good to see JVR firin it up already too. Here's lookin forward to the season opener against Boston.

Did anyone here own IceHot 2? I think it was possibly the greatest hockey movie ever made. I had it on vhs, along with Don Cherry's 10th anniversary video from the '97 season, and the Owen Nolan called-shot goal was in it.

Had a pretty ugly pre season game against the rangers on monday. Ronaldo( I think) haymaker smashed some ranger real good in the first period. Then a cheap ass boarding by one of our guys lit up quite a pile up. It's almost like the flyers are bucking the new boarding rules on purpose or something, I mean I'm a philly fan and I thought the hit was cheap and in poor form. Also it was like a game or two after shelly was hit with 10 games for a boarding call. I really couldn't believe my eyes.

I'm real glad that csn hasn't gotten their shit together yet and audio was all fucked, allowing the chirping between simmonds and avery to be heard uncut by all at home. It was ugly too, simmonds shouting gay comments at avery and avery clearly yelling whatever BRO repeatedly at simmonds. Good stuff.

Anyway enough gossip.

I'm liking the look of us this year more and more. Carter and richards who??? Jagr looks like a huge asset so far and seems to be working well on a line with giroux. I'm liking this byrzgalof(sp?) guy, it's nice to see a skilled goalie in philly for a change. Bob's fun to watch but seems to crack sometimes from inexperience. Really hoping the whole team comes together in the regular season, I don't follow all the details but I know prongers still out nursing a surgery and hartnell was in the hospital for some odd heartbeat or something.

Regardless it looks like it's gonna be a really fun team to watch this year.


Also in an attempt to sidetrack this thread once again like I did last year. my buddies landlord is being a bitch and doesn't want us fucking with the pond anymore......meaning no more pond hockey for us. So we're gonna do the next best thing, kill a huge patch of grass by building a backyard rink. Anybody got any experience with this??? We're guessing we gotta at least board out a frame and plastic the bottom to hold water but we're not sure. We'll be skating somehow though I can promise you that.

Oh also stoked on the winter classic coming to philly this year, just hope its cold enough in early jan. here. I'm afraid to ask what tickets cost to that though.

Also excited to see the devils get stomped tonight hopefully.

Got in a little chirp session this summer on vacation in Alaska, noticed the dude behind me in security had a devils backpack on and I couldn't let it slide. We lit up an east coast rivalry right there in the Fairbanks airport haha. It was all in good fun though. He actually got detained and I could see him sitting in security while I was wandering the airport. I almost heckled him while he was sitting there helpless but I figured that was too far even coming from a flyers fan so I just let it be.

2 more people needed for the league. it be cool to keep it with kids that post in this thread but if i have to ill make a thread.


and i decided to do head to head points this year. meaning that you just get a W or L in the match rather than points. i did this so that people do infact stop changing their linups or leaving injured dudes in there there isnt just crazy points going around. it will just be you win or lose no real points involved.


depending on when the league has 10 people im trying to do the draft somewhere around tuesday or wendsday at like 8 or 9 PM.

its all good if youve never been in a fantasy league before. pretty much draft the players you think are gonna have a good season and pay attention for wavier wire moves.

I didn't know what else to call them, that's what they call themselves. "Banking lawyers" seems demeaning.

If anyone's in a pool post your picks and how many teams there were. Mine's tonight, looking at 15 teams or so, probably go 10-12 rounds.
