147 pages in the 2010-11 Thread. Here start's next season.

Now the season's over, Boston has the cup for the summer, but it's all up for grabs come autumn. Bump it through the slow summer months as transactions occur

Oh, and to start some tradition: LOL @ Anaheim.

I'd take almost any of the top 6 on the Sharks over Jamie Benn for puck possession and offensive playmaking. That's not even being biased at this point - the only one i'd trade out for Benn is Ryane Clowe... maybe Havlat for the whole fact that he's basically our version of Sami Salo... (injuries)

I'd even go so far as to argue that I'd rather have Loui Eriksson if we're just talking puck possession and pure offense.

...as for Ray Whitney. It's been killing me for years that the Sharks haven't brought him back. Guy is an ageless wonder.

THE DEVILS AREN'T DONE YET, just remember last year's cup finals when the Canucks went up 2-0 but ended up losing the next 2 games in Boston and the series in 7 games. :(

It's the way he is still leaving the team on the hook with paying the $5M cap hit. This also makes him untradeable because the no trade clause in his contract expires in July.

I would have no problem with him packing his bags and calling it a career, but this bullshit taking one year off so he can go to bum fuck wisconsin and attend his ron paul rallies or run as romneys VP is what drives me nuts

Unless the B's got to trade him, the $5M is still on the books. Now he gets to come back at the end of his contract and decide what team he wants to land on

Does he just expect to roll back into town with this team after a year off? You signed a damn deal, put your signature on a contract no honor it you fucking putz. He was fine signing the front loaded contract to get paid big money and now he doesnt want to honor it

Shit, I just kinda realized that unless he retires, Boston really is on the hook for a 5m cap hit. That's fucking asinine. I don't care if you're from Vancouver, Montreal, New York, or just hate Boston... you've gotta admit that's pretty petty and weak move, if you're just going to take a sabbatical at retirement age.

What if he does this, collects 5 grand and THEN decides he doesn't even want to play? Even if Boston takes him to court over that money and gets it back in the future, it's still 5 grand they could have spent towards their team next year for a player they can't play nor move nor use the cap space opened...

About losing him on the ice, though? whatever. they at least have a solid takeover option in Rask...

yeah they don't have to pay him.. as in he won't get the $3M of salary or whatever for the final year of his contract...still carries a $5M cap hit to the team though

He's being a selfish cunt, took his front loaded contract with a smile on his face to make his money and is now giving the team a big 'fuck you'

The way L.A. and New Jersey were playing in the play-offs, I would have never guessed L.A. would be on its way to sweep the Final. I thought L.A. was screwed once New Jersey advanced to the Final.

They made it to the final but got Roy'd and lost 3 straight OT games - much unlike the current incarnation which doesn't lose in OT unless they're playing San Jose..

Cup in the building first time on wednesday, looking forward to it. no matter who wins seeing gary pass the cup to the captain always puts a smile on my face. makes it that much better when they win in on home ice.
