Now the season's over, Boston has the cup for the summer, but it's all up for grabs come autumn. Bump it through the slow summer months as transactions occur

I'm torn, if the devils beat the rangers i'm definitely rooting for the kings, if the rangers make it in, i'm torn between an original six team, and rooting for quick.

i guess vancouver just always faces the best teams in the playoffs.

since the lockout, with the exception of 2 seasons where vancouver did not make the playoffs (05/06 + 07/08), the team to knock the canucks out has always made it and/or won the cup.

Nope, we have lost to the eventual cup champs in 2007, 2010, 2011. In 2009, the Hawks got beat by the Wings in the conference finals. But your point is well taken. If the Kings do win this has to be some kind of record. 4 times in 6 years?

This is in response to Gnartron's post. People keep saying Bettman doesn't want the less popular teams to be in the finals because the tv ratings would be shitty or something like that right? Now I might be wrong but it seems to me like it would be the other way around; He wants these less popular teams like PHX and such to make it far into the playoffs so as to become more popular and then they wont have to relocate and all that shit no?

I'm pretty sure this year the NHL should be very happy as it is. LA vs. NY area teams always bring in high ratings. New Jersey has a large enough fanbase that even that matchup wouldn't do poorly.

That said. Anaheim sure mucked up that equation. See 2003..

first half, devs outplayed but rags had more chances. For some fucking reason the puck just wont go in the god damn net. Then they come back and score on a cheesy shot or bounce. Fucking story of our playoffs so far.
Glimmer of hope though, Prust is so underrated and so damn valuable to the team. Rangers absolutely dominated after that goal and looked much better. 9 of the last 11 shots. It's just so god damn frustrating watching them play.
Between periods though, Torts will lay the fuck into them like he usually does and hopefully continue some momentum.

Yeah, it just sucks that they shit the bed in game 2 and then dug such a big hole in this game that even though they outplayed NJ all game, they barely managed to tie it and gave up the lead again late.

jonathan quick is the greatest of all time. i was watching some video on him today and it's insane how low he gets and how quickly he moves side to side. he's like a little fucking rodent in there. he just scurries about with crazy flexibility, totally taking away the bottom half of the net.

I love J Quick.. I wish they would have made his as badass in NHL 12 as he is in real life. I got stomped earlier today playing as the Kings 6-2 to the fucking Sabers.
