147 pages in the 2010-11 Thread. Here start's next season.

Now the season's over, Boston has the cup for the summer, but it's all up for grabs come autumn. Bump it through the slow summer months as transactions occur

Oh, and to start some tradition: LOL @ Anaheim.

Yeah hopefully all seguin needed was a little confidence boost because when he gets hot he can do some great stuff, hard to believe he isn't even 21 yet

Looch is having flashes of the first rounds of last years playoffs..its looks like he's wearing cinder blocks for skates, but hopefully that line getting 2 goals will get their ass in gear

I'm sure it also had somethin to do with playing two brutally physical games saturday and sunday..you could tell there were some heavy legs in the 3rd period of that game sunday

I want to see Cory as our #1 next year, but I really hope lou goes east and does really well, he's still at top goalie in this league, and to put the team ahead of himself like that, you can't say enough about his character. If he goes, at least some some of us will miss him

I'm not sure I want Caron playing tomorrow either. He was a non factor and played like, 4 minutes. Put Thornton back in there, he's one of the emotional and physical leaders on that team. One of the girls I work with went to the Bees/Islanders games a couple weeks ago and she and her friend ended up hanging out with Caron and Pouliot. Apparently, she gave Caron a bj in the hotel bathroom while her friend boned Pouliot. She had pics on her iphone of Pouliot sitting on the bed. This girl is a dime, so I naturally believed her.

But back to hockey, do you think the Bruins will come out flying and dominate like they did in game 7 against the Nucks? if this is another 1 point game I'll end up in the hospital.

Dude, Luongo is probably one of the biggest bitches in the league. He threw up all over himself in the cup finals last year. How the hell do you let up that many goals in the playoffs? And then he had the audacity to bitch about everything while it happened. All that crap about "pumping tires" and his bullshit comments about Tim Thomas just illustrate how much of an entitled pussy he is. Schneider is Gerry Cheevers compared to what that simpering little fraud did last year. I like Schneider even though he is a Canuck...he grew up a few towns over from mine.

They'll come out flying as they have all series, but it will most likely lead to nothing but a lot of shots on the stat sheet...6 straight one goal games, I'm leaning towards this one being another nail bitter

I think thorny gets the nod too, caron only played 6 mins last game anyways - its not like he's an impact player and you could always use thornton to take a fighting major and get everyone pumped if need be without worrying about sitting a big player for 5

Vancouver also signed Cannata who played at Merrimack college...just a few towns over from where schneider grew up

I drive by Merrimack all the time. I'm from Merrimac, MA, and everyone always assumes that Merrimack College is in Merrimac...but it's not. New England just kills it on the hockey front. There are 21 BC grads playing in the NHL right now, I believe.

The Bruins always have to do things the hard way. Julien has the team set up from more of a defensive mindset, which means the big guns like Seguin and Krejci only see 15 or so minutes a game. Those are the only two really impressive skill guys on the team, but you never really see it because of the way the team is organized. The Bruins don't really have guys like Stamkos, Semin, or Backstrom that can snipe the puck or finesse it in there, so the games are usually annoyingly close. With that said, Krejci is heating up at the right time, too. Hopefully we see some of the goal production they were known for during the regular season.

Actually, a good portion of the team this year was from Massachusetts. Their coach is a Boston guy as well, but if you look at the roster there are kids from all over the state. They won the national championship too. And it was more of a commentary on the solid hockey instruction in New England. UMASS, BC, BU, UMAINE, and even Merrimack all had pretty sick teams this year. Unfortunately, UVM was a bit of a joke, but they've been sick in the past.

Keith Aucoin, Brian Boyle, Bobby Butler, Joe Callahan, Rick DiPietro, Benn Ferriero, Hal Gill, Bill Guerrin, Josh Hennessey, Doug Janik, John McCarthy, Mike Mottau (Bruins) Jay Pandolfo, Corey Schneider, Brian Strait, Ryan Whitney are all from MA. Granted, I don't know any of those guys outside of Aucoin, Boyle, Gill, Guerrin, Mottau, and Schneider, but there certainly is a good showing. Jonathan Quick is from CT, I believe...New England does well for itself. I know Canada, Sweden, and the Czechs kill it, but it's nice to see some Americans ripping. Tim Thomas is from Michigan, and aside from Mottau, I think he might be the only American on the team. The only starter, probably.

Anyone else really miss the years of old, when the clutch and grab was pretty much ousted by refs who called interference like their jobs depended on it?

...I feel like it's 2003 again with neutral zone tackle play.

Biggest flop goalie since Hasek

Its so entertaining seeing the majority of Bruins fans thinking that they're automatically relevant since they won the cup (last one since 72). 

OH LOOK!, they won! Let me just learn all the players and pretend that I've stuck it out through the tough times.  I can always just use the excuse that they won the cup to nullify any responses.

Seriously dude? They are the defending cup champions, they are automatically relevant by virtue of that fact. It's the same in every sport, the defending champs are the team to beat. Never mind that the Bruins have been relevant for the past 4 or 5 years since they've made the playoffs. Not to mention the fact that they strung together one of the most impressive winning streaks of the year earlier this season. Not to mention the fact that they have a two time Vezina trophy winnig goalie who had one of the all time greatest playoff performances last season. Or that they had 6 20+ goal scorers on the team this year and one of the best defenseman in the league, as well as the best two way forward in the game. Or the top 3 toughest players in the league (Lucic, Chara, Thornton) as voted by other players in the NHL. They are an original 6 team with a great history and can boast having the best defenseman, and arguably the best player of all time, in Bobby Orr. Yeah, they're completely irrelevant.

I love how if any boston fans celebrates the cup we won last year, they're a bandwagon fan of an irrelevant team. I'm sorry, what do you expect us to do, post highlights of them losing in the playoffs in the past to prove we were there then too?

Yeah I live right in the north end and work in the financial district, which is another reason why I'm tempted to snag those tickets, the garden isnt even a 5 minute walk from my apartment

98.5 all the way..few hours of T & R then some gresh and zo and finally maz and felger is exactly how I get through my workday during the stanley cup haha

I don't comment in here much during the NHL season but I'm sure as shit paying attention. Does that mean I'm a bandwagon fan? Nope...so fuck you. He actually came back to the bench bleeding so he did get caught up high with something

Do I think he was diving? No.
Do I think he was embellishing? Yes.
Did this lead to the goal chimera scored? No. Boston's defense (lack of) and thomas being super aggressive and not wanting to get burned by another high over the shoulder clapper were the reason the caps scored on that play

If Marchand pulls any more of this embellishment shit I will lose it. That isn't Bruins hockey, so knock off this Canadiens bullshit. Teams like the Canadiens and the Canucks, who have killer PP units, dive not just because they are pussies (which they certainly are) but they need to draw penalties to get their pp going. The bruins pp is atrocious, so idk why Marchand pulls that shit.
