147 pages in the 2010-11 Thread. Here start's next season.

Now the season's over, Boston has the cup for the summer, but it's all up for grabs come autumn. Bump it through the slow summer months as transactions occur

Oh, and to start some tradition: LOL @ Anaheim.

Prepare for disappointment. You never know what'll happen in OT - but the Kings look like a much more organized, and more energetic team. The Canucks look scrambly and not very threatening. Doesn't bode well.

Definitely prepared. No doubt that anything can happen! Last time I felt like this was Game 7 vs. Chicago last year... stomach in knots to the point that I feel like leaving the bar!!

Luongo has too many up and down games. Yeah sure he played well the first 2 but why not the 3rd. The reason why a lot of Nucks fans really put down Luongo is the lack of consistency that he doesnt provide. Why we lost the Stanley Cup is a large part because of his melt downs in Boston. Name one game where Thomas or Quick had a melt down...

LA didnt deserve to be in 8th place. If you watched the regular season you would see that they started to look more like a 3rd or 4th place team.

i don't think the city of vancouver or any of the inhabitants of british columbia can blame Luongo for having a melt down last year during the finals, i mean the whole area melted down after game 7 last year.

schneider didn't fair well against the bruins last year either, though he was not credited with a loss.

this is a bull shit statement, regardless of how they played at the end of the season, they were still the 8th seed. They EARNED the 8th spot when all the points were counted at the end of the season. That's the bottom line. But whatever helps ease your mind.

LA this year is the most talented 8th seed I've ever seen... More talented than the 2009 Anaheim Ducks that took out my pres trophy squad in 6.

Very dissapointed at the moment, but we didn't deserve to win the series the way we played. So hopefullt STL rips LA a new one.

this summer should be really interesting though. Hope they keep schneids and trade Luongo. Either ask him for a list of 5 teams he would be willing to go to or ask him to waive it completely. While he has the ntc and has some power i feel they could muscle him out by saying he will be the backup, something i don't think Lu would want to do.
If we trade Luongo, i expect us to lose the trade, however thats ok, i see it more as dumping cap space then anything else.

what we do need is to get some more consistent scoring, can't always hope players are gonna have career years and hopeufully with the additional cap space we can pick up some players. Parise?? a guy can dream right

H Sedin, D Sedin, Kesler, Burrows, Bieksa, Edler, Lapierre, Ballard, Higgins. Where were they? No doubt great players but none of them showed up. Not all of LA showed up

You cannot move Luongo unless he waives his NTC.. which states this: NTC (player can supply five-team trade list following final game of 2013-14, valid through July 15, 2014; if player does not submit trade list at that time, team can request a five-team trade list following final game of 2017-18 season, valid through Sept. 1, 2018). If player submitted a trade list in 2014 and was not moved, team loses right to request trade list in 2018.

Therefore, anyone calling for a Luongo trade, should just can it. He's not going anywhere...

Schneider will bring back a pretty good return just for his RFA status, surely. I don't know what Vancouver has for goalie prospects in the system that are ready, but if not, there's a few guys around this offseason that are plenty serviceable as Luongo's backup

Parise is staying in NJ. I don't see him going anywhere unless NJ loses its fucking mind or sees a huge return.

Vancouver has a lot of pieces that are pricy which they can move... Will be interesting to see.

Its unlikely that Luongo is going anywhere but if MG walks up to Luongo and tells him Schneids will be the starter next year and he will be the backup, do you think he will be willing to do that?
But as for other goalies we have, we have Lack in the AHL who is ready to be a backup in the NHL, and is supposed to be very good in the future. I would love to see a Schneids-Lack combo next year

As for our upcoming UFAs, sadly most of them are 3rd and 4th line guys. I just hope Raymond is gone

...Lu's not going anywhere. Management won't even think about it for another 2 years. He's a solid tender anyways... and at least he's not being paid Bryzgalov cash.

wow crazy win for the kings..props to them for the big upset, although they have the talent to not be considered an 8th seed for sure

VERY interested to see how the goalie spot works out next year.. schneider and quick were both great last night and it was a ton of fun to watch especially as a non-biased viewer. Luongo is a very nicely paid consultant at $7M a year or whatever he's making...

He can still be moved if he is willing to be moved. And no player wants to stay in a situation where they're no longer considered part of the plan going forward. So yes, he can be traded, if he wants to be traded. I expect they'll ask him for a list of teams. They will then try to work something out with those teams. If they can't, they will trade Schneider.

yeah thats not bad on the cap..either way if vancouver plays their cards right they can come out of this situation nicely

unload luongo if he wants to get out of town for a nice price or trade schneider whose stock is really high right now also for a nice price

and then call up cannata! go merrimack!

I can see Luongo in a laughs's uniform next season, that is, if he doesn't wave his NTC.

Luongo's main problem is that he chokes during big important games, that isn't a problem with the leafs though. Since they never have the opportunity to play in an important game.

how else do you want me to answer this question? say that vancouver sucks? they're a horrible with no business in playoffs? obviously thats not true since they were the presidents trophy winners 2 years in a row and went to the cup final last year.

LA outplayed Vancouver because Vancouver did not show up, and LA did. Van showed up in game 4 and won, they showed up for most of game 5 but couldn't keep it together when it mattered most. LA did show up, I don't know why anyone would say otherwise.

none of the games today or tomorrow are at 1. they only have that on weekends, probably for conflict with NBA or concerts which use the same stadium.
