Now the season's over, Boston has the cup for the summer, but it's all up for grabs come autumn. Bump it through the slow summer months as transactions occur

I still can't belive Colin White actually did anything good. Sharks just let the Blues PP have it's way with them in the early going... both penalties from the 2nd period resulted in goals.

This team needs to come out in game 4 like it's do or fucking die. The one good thing I could take from this game is that they didn't give up and actually somehow had a chance to tie it at the end there. If they scored, the tank would have gone absolutely richter...

stupid move by alzner to jump in on the lucic/hendricks scuffle, not only is it clearly a third man in situation (dubinsky is bullshit right now) but he ignited a passion in lucic which is a very bad idea, why would you instigate a player that is doing jackshit in the series? He sucks. He's having an awful playoffs just like he did last year at this time but I guarantee you this turns him around and you can look at this incident as the reason why

Alzner why don't you show us how much of a crybaby lucic is by dropping the gloves with him next game?

this is dumb though, crosby had the upper hand in that "fight" he actually landed punches, Giroux did not. Crosby I would imagine is probably bigger and stronger than Giroux, really I think Giroux is lucky he didnt get jacked in the head and get another concussion.

yes its said that all I get to argue about are penalties and fights since my team has decided to forget how to play hockey.

You ever had a concussion bro? Shit is no joke..especially when you're thinking about stepping onto a rock hard sheet of ice with 6'3" 230lb players chasing you around trying to put your brain 10 rows deep in the stands

People might give the sedin sisters are hard time about pussying out in playoffs and other situations, but no one can question a player not being able to come back because of concussions especially in this day and age...things are damn scary

I have always thought of Lucic looking like he should be a linebacker for the NFL instead of a hockey player. He is just a big dude, and agreed don't think alzner should of jumped on that scrap. I know lucic probably would win, but hendricks is a scrappy dude and would drop them with anyone.

Exactly. I would have loved to see a hendriks/lucic tee off on one another..looch has the size/weight advantage but obviously hendricks has a shit ton of experience in the past couple seasons

He has a lower body injury right now, not sure whats up. probably groin or something. The Caps need a guy like that decking people and clearing out the front of the net. Erskine vs Lucic would be a fight to see

So it looks like Backstrom is going to get suspended for game 4. That is complete bullshit, I know it was a high cross check and and maybe he should be suspended, personally I think fined would be more appropriate. I more saw it as he was trying to shove the guy, really don't think he meant to go up high on him. NIck was just standing up for Ovi But what the fuck is the league doing you suspend a guy like backstrom who rarely is into physical contact, and you only fine weber 2500 for smashing heads into the wall. I can't believe some of the calls and rulings that are happening around the league. It is complete shit. Caps need him too, badly

I would not call that a cheap shot at all, if peverely was off the boards more and then Ovi hit him. That would be a hit from behind and probably get called for boarding. But what Ovi did was legal

that's such a bullshit fucking ruling. smith played that whole ordeal up. you can't honestly tell me that a helmet designed to stop pucks at over 100 mph didn't offer any protection against that little bit of contact. i find it funny that he was screaming bloody fucking murder, but the second the major went up on the board his helmet went back on and he was fucking fine. cocksucker.

and how in the fuck can they say shaw didn't try and avoid contact? you can see him try and squeeze between smith and the boards as soon as smith turns in to him. if he were trying to lay smith out, i'm sure he could have fucking leveled him much harder than he did. such a bullshit situation.

shanahan can fucking kill himself as far as I'm concerned. seems to be giving it to the hawks extra hard towards the end of the year...almost like he's got a grudge.

Yeah I've had a few, couple came directly from some 6'3" 230 lbs monster putting a high hit on me during a high school hockey game.

my comment wasn't based on his lack of play in the playoffs after a concussion, believe me I'd love to have Horton back right now but understand that it would seriously risk his future. My comment was based on the fact that Vancouver is facing elimination tonight. And being a bruins fan automatically makes me root for the Kings over the Cannucks.

Goalies are not fair game, players need to make an effort to get out of their way. Yes Smith maybe did play it up a bit but what do you expect? Don't skate by and hit a goalie in the chin and it won't happen. If he "tried to lay him out" as he could have, Shaw would be gone for the rest of the playoffs. You can't go after goalies, everyone knows this.

Shanahan has been giving it extra to the Hawks? Maybe it has something to do with the dirty hit Keith made on Sedin in the regular season. Sedin still isn't back and Vancouver is fucked because of it. Keith only got five games and he basically took out a top rival team in the process...

a hit from behind is a hit from behind regardless of how far off the boards you are. so technically it was a cheap shot, but it is hockey, and i don't think ovi had enough speed to warrant a major penalty, however, you can expect to see retaliation on something like that.

43.1 Checking from Behind – A check from behind is a check delivered on a player who is not aware of the impending hit, therefore unable to protect or defend himself, and contact is made on the back part of the body. When a player intentionally turns his body to create contact with his back, no penalty shall be assessed.
43.2 Minor Penalty - There is no provision for a minor penalty for checking from behind.
43.3 Major Penalty – Any player or goalkeeper who cross-checks, pushes or charges from behind an opponent who is unable to protect or defend himself, shall be assessed a major penalty. This penalty applies anywhere on the playing surface (see 43.5).

If they took shit literally from the playbook they would never be able to complete a hockey game because there would be an infinite amount of penalties called...

That ovi hit did not warrant a penalty, he was going in hard and hit peverly literally as time expired. Peverly took exception to that because he was being mobbed by caps players so turned around and tripped ovi

No penalty on ovi, no penalty on peverly....backstrom was the only idiot in that situation and put his team in a seriously bad position because he lost his cool

Yeah what Im trying to say is that even in the regular season they wouldn't call that as a hit from behind. He wasn't moving fast enough and that kind of hit is expected. The reason it may be cheap is because time was expiring .

you all see that raffi torres hit? definitely questionable, havent seen enough replay to determine whether or not he left his feet before making contact. hope hossa is ok (he left on a stretcher), that hit was HUGE.
