147 pages in the 2010-11 Thread. Here start's next season.

Now the season's over, Boston has the cup for the summer, but it's all up for grabs come autumn. Bump it through the slow summer months as transactions occur

Oh, and to start some tradition: LOL @ Anaheim.

i fucking HATED philly before this series.  I felt like it was going to hurt to have to root for philly but after watching them play and wanting them to actually win, i like this team a lot!  The guys play hard, finish hard, and don't take shit. 

Philly is probably going to be my second team from now honestly.  Go Sabres.

the penguins suck. that being said, Crosby landed more punches in that little fight than Giroux who missed with an uppercut while Sindey connected with one.

Fucking crosby, hes a great player but someone seriously needs to kick his ass. going around pushing and grabbing everyone and moving gloves and talking shit like a little bitch but then gets in one fight and doesnt even throw a punch. I think whats going on is that he knows everyone thinks hes a pussy so hes trying to go around doing a bunch of shit to prove that hes not a pussy, except all the things hes doing are actually making him look like more of a pussy.

also, i wouldnt count out the pens just yet; flyers fans, you guys of all people should know this, its never over til its over. they certainly have enough talent to pull it off, lets see if they really want it though.

Please that ref jumped in there as fast as he could to save sindeys pretty face, I don't see why they didn't just let em go. I mean ya know any fan of any team would wanna see a giroux crosby fight.

Guess I don't know your guys well enough to know vitale is that much smaller.

Talbot does seem to be working you guys over pretty well.

Hell I'd take sid on our team....maybe in 15 years or so.

Couldn't watch the game but from what I can tell they shoulda won and outplayed the Kings, Quick stole the game.

They just have to keep playing hard, with intensity, take it one game at a time. AND SCORE SOME FUCKING GOALS

He played for the Gatineau Olympiques and my buddy would go see him play quite a bit and apparently he really stood out.
Other than drafting Fischer, I think Timmins (the head scout) has done an amazing job drafting good players.

I can't wait for the draft..

it shouldn't matter what anyone says off the ice at all. There is something called free speech. unless it's hate speech or what not, fining someone for what they say is NOT acceptable. He didn`t call anyone a nig*er or dirty c*nt. I would not at all stand for that. and the league has no legal power to fine someone for what they say. they could sue him for slander. If I were him I`d say fuck you and not give them money. what are they going to do? taking him to court over trash talking? they'd loose so bad.

It's not free speech when youre representing you're team and an organization..the league absolutely has legal power to do that. Do you watch professional sports? Its in there contracts not to do stuff like this...idiots get in trouble all the time for saying stupid shit by tweeting,press conferences etc.

I've never read one of their contracts. But I'd assume they have the ability to cut a players wage or suspend or anything else like that. but NOT fine him personally for it. they are not the government giving out a parking ticket.

I'm sure there's a lot about their contract I don't know. But by 'fine' I'm almost certain they mean that they take it out of his salary for the year and NOT actually fine him and take his personal money he's already earned. since I really do not think they have that legal ability. maybe J.D. can weigh in and let me know if they can.

Also the $2500 is bull. should be $100,000 for when some player making $5 million a year elbows someone into the future. $2500 fine for a player like that is maybe $10 for the average income.

they dont make millions their entire lives. And at the beginning and end of their careers they make a lot less. I'm not saying hockey players don't get paid too much, you just have to take into account that the money they make has to get spread out because they retire so young and most dont work after

they still get paid an awful lot to play the game they love. average salary is $2 mill. say half taken off in taxes if you're a Canadian player. so $1. maybe the average career 4-5 years. that's 4-5 million in the pocket. that's $80,000 a year to live off for the rest of your life without having to work another day. Plus if you invest and what not then you're living off probably $100,000 a year, after tax. that's amazing. plus if they want more money, nothing's stopping them from working. they can always become a cbc employee
