SD Card Choice

Ok so I know there's probably already a few threads out there about this, but I'm not in the mood for spending a half-hour searching.

Here's the situation, this weekend I'm going to look at cameras in a few stores. I've used the Nikon D3100 and I really liked it. It's within my price range and covers all my needs, my problem is that I have no idea what SD card to get. I know that I need a relatively fast one to shoot videos and it also needs to be large enough to hold all the shots. I've looked around on the web a bit, but have had no luck.

So I'm asking if you could give me some pointers on how to decide what to get in terms of the SD card. Any help is appreciated, thanks guys!

Your best bet would be a class 10 SD card. I went with the transend just because I was short on money and I should be getting them in the next few days.

honestly I don't think you need class 10. However, for what you need you can't go wrong with sandisk. I would say this would suit you pretty well.

The bigger the better (duh). and you should also read up on what card your camera requires. I know that when I got my slr I had the wrong class (had class 4 from my old gopro, only recorded video on 6 and up) so I had to get a new one.

i just got a gh2 and had been using an old class 4 4gb I had laying around. it worked alright for stills, not so much for bursts, and never tested video. Best buy had sandisk extremes, and they were like $25 for an 8gb, so I got one, and it works great. I need to get a bigger one, but I can prbly wait until I get a second battery too
