I am currently skiing with the headphones that came with my phone..... they are super uncomfortable and in order to take them out i have to pry my hat, bandana, and helmet up..... I work at a store that sells Icon2s and i can get them cheap. That being said I have been told that the icon 2s dont hold on to your head tight enough to wear over beanie/below helmet.....and that the original icons only hold tight enough.....
ALL responses / Tips on how to wear icon2s effectivaly with helmet +kk
They will not fit under a helmet, unfortunetly, what i do is have them like im wearing them on my head then just slid them back to around my neck, keeping the actual headphones on my ears. Seems to work for me.
but them so the adjustable slider is on the back of your head. and then make it really tight, and i ussually put my goggle strap over that. It will only come off if your stomping shit huuge. good luck.
have the connector part either be sort of tucked into your jacket or hoodie so sort of just pull your hoodie a bit up also when you do if they fall theyll fall off into ur hoodie (if u dont wear a hoodie i cant help you here)
I had the problem of the headband being too chunky for my helmet so i originally cut grooves into the padding on the inside of my helmet so they would fit but i couldnt hear if somebody was talking to me. so i worked out that if you lead the cable from your ipod or whatever round the back of your neck. flip them so the left speaker is on the right ear and have the headband as tight as possible and resting on the back of your neck. then tighten up the two stap bits connected to your helmet so that the headphones can just sit in the triangle and your good to go. (sorry if this is confusing i will post a pic soon to show what i mean) this method holds up good for pretty much everything until you stack and then they just fall round your neck, so no big deal.
I usually just wear my AKG's around the back of my head. Only problem is I don't like exposing them to snow, they're my babies, so I end up wearing one earbud. I only wear the one with the clicker on it, so I can still hear what's going on, which is more important then you'd think lol.
I hate wearing earbuds when I ski so the Icons are my #1 choice... what i do is wear them the way the guy in this picture does (left ear of the headphone on my right ear and vice versa) and below the helmet but on top of my beanie and goggles... but my trick is that i pull the slippery "foam" off the headphone and flip it inside-out and then put it back on and its way grippier on my touque (beanie for all u americans). That way they don't fall down on their own but are super easy to put on and take off when on the chair and talking to friends...
my sister got icon2s for christmas and ive tried them a few times and i instantly made the decision that i would go for normal icons. or nmaybe even uprocks
If there is such an issue with the way the fit and sound etc then don't be a hipster and buy them because everyone has them. buy something else like Bose or something. as long as it works, plays sound and is comfortable, isn't that all thats needed?
1) Listening to music while skiing is impractical. You can't hear anything around you and it's annoying to try to talk to people.
2) That said, in the ear are by far the least practical.
I just wish someone would make a speaker that isn't bulky and fits in a pocket so you can listen to music and talk to people. Like a skullyboom, but not fucking retarded.
