Ever have a binding malfunction end your day of skiing? Better bindings = less likely to malfunction, and since you'll be at camp all week, it would suck to have your bindings break at the beginning of the day and be stuck on the hill all day with no skis. Buy the bindings that are right for you, but don't cheap out, there are several different options for durable bindings (FKS style being considered the best by the majority of people, but not the only option). I know money is tough sometimes, but I'd really recommend finding a way to get some decent clamps...check the Sell/Trade forum and see if you can get some really good bindings on the cheap, or spend sometime checking the outlet sites and off-season sales for some good bindings that wont break the bank.
