Also, NH number 1, too bad our current legislature is full of absurdly conservative gun nuts with no idea that raising taxes helps cut deficit, not just cutting programs for mentally disabled people, among other things. Can't wait till the pendulum swings back. Thank god for Lynch, at least.

By leaning to the right do you mean not so far out in left field that you can't see what is happening in the game like the majority of universities?

The study does a good job of explaining their rational behind the rankings.

I am sorry you got busted in Utah, I am not sure why you consented to the further tests, or allowed the police into the residence in the first place. The best way to protect your freedom is to not step to the side as others walk over it.

What does being a 'gun nut' have to do with following the popular economic theory that both taxes and government subsidies take value out of the economy?

While taxes do help cover government spending, they also hurt the private sector's ability to catalyze productivity.

The higher taxes and increased spending on hand outs at the federal level has really done a lot to help the economy get going these last two years... oh wait.

This is exactly what I thought when I read California's. It seems somewhat less than impartial. Interesting nonetheless.

What about the capital gains tax? The majority of people who are making money off of stocks are rich, very rich mostly, yet the tax rate for capital gains is only 15% (lower if you are in lower income brackets-as it should be).  I agree that we shouldnt raise taxes for the everyday american, hell dont even raise taxes for the multi millionairs. But there are folks with hundreds of millions, and billions, of dollars that are not getting taxed nearly as much as they should be.

Not trying to relate the two statements. However, the only thing these guys do is cut, cut, cut. Our taxes are low as it is, our state economy is much better than the national average, but NO NEW TAXES is their mantra. Also, they claimed that they would focus only on cutting spending, but the first thing they did when they got in office was to make concealed firearms legal in the fucking state house, where you're not allowed to protest with signs because 'the sticks could hurt people'. Finally, I have zero respect for the current Speaker of the House. He is an arrogant douche who has no respect for proper legislative process.

It's not a coincidence that that the liberal and democratic states are the least free. They tax and regulate everything they can. NY is considered a liberal state (by most standards) and they are constantly telling you what kind of salt you can eat, how to buckle your Childs seatbelt (because apparently adults need the state govt to tell them how), the list goes on.
