I was up at my buddies ocean house in the far northeast corner of Maine, and they only had one store in his bumfuck town. All the beer was stocked on shelves, not even in the coolers. I walked to the far shelf and found these gems, Ballantine Ale and Schaefer Beer. I picked up a couple dusty 6 packs of each and proceeded to get drunk off these old beers.
My buddies dad said he hadn't seen Schaefer in a while, the last time when he was a kid they sponsored Fenway Park.
Schaefer: "The beer to drink when you're having more than one."

Oberon with a slice of orange is so good. I didn't know they had it outside Michigan. Spotted Cow is good too, I tried a bunch of the New Glarus stuff while I was in Wisconsin last month. Solid choices haha.

Holy Moly haven't seen that before I am jealous. The VT Pub and Brewery used to have a beer only sold in the restaurant called maple wee heavy. Brewed with 25 gallons of pure maple sizzurp. It sounds too sweet but its not. 8.3% and a limit of 3 8 oz servings. I used to just go in and hammer down three and I was back on church street in 5 minutes. Plus K for your secret long trail stash.

I cant believe nobody has posted either of these yet. Particularly the New Castle Brown Ale mini keg! Its always a good call (especially for the price) if your just chillen on a lake or for a post ski day wind down. And the dogfish head is always good to but a little pricier unfortunately :/

La Fin du Monde is actually pretty decent but I will not drink ANYTHING unless it is blacker than my very soul. Allow me to change your lives - everything made by haandbryggeriet is ridiculously amazing. This is the crowning jewel - as far as I'm aware it is the only Wheat Stout made anywhere and it is DELICIOUS. One of these suckers with a juicy steak and grilled veggies is what I've had the last 2 sundays running for dinner and it is pure heaven. You only need one...

once again i'll drink you under the table any day man. The two things i'm good at in life are drinking and hockey. You can't take those away from me and those are the only two things I brag about.

When you're 6'1 and 225 lbs drinking will be your game, but until then stick to skiing. I'm not going to tell you how good at skiing i am because I'm pretty mediocre.

We couldn't care less how much you can drink broseph. you posted about good beer, not how much of it you can drink. Whenever I hear you bragging about how much they can drink, all I hear is, "Blah blah blah, liver liver cirrhosis hockey bro so many beers i weigh a lot"

ahhhhh the staple of pennsylvania. I'm gonna go grab a case of cans tonight for around 18 bones or so. Yuenger ain't great but it sure beats bud or any light beer for a cheap go to party beer. Americas oldest brewery, murica fuck yea.

Lol, weren't you just bragging about drinking 20 beers in one night? That's hardly an accomplishment, but keep on keepin on, I guess...


Anyway, back on topic, I tried one of these yesterday:

and did not enjoy it at all, which is pretty rare. It's a Scotch ale brewed with honey, kola nut, poppy seed, and guarana. Yuck.


However, it was easily made up by drinking this afterward:

Seriously.

One of the things that irritates me is Blue Moon. It's not really a bad beer by any means. It's got a decent taste and all. The part that bothers me is that it is often purchased by people thinking they are getting a microbrew. They are not. It's a macrobrew (Brewed entirely by Coors under a stagename), being passed off as a micro, and sold at micro prices.

That said, it's not a bad beer, but for being a macro, it should not be competing price-wise with micros and stealing the show from some excellent micros.
