Why not let people off from serious crimes because the prisons are full of good people busted in shit situations based on our drug laws. The penalties of drugs compared to some real fucking crimes makes me want to fuck some people up, and I'm a non violent person.

The drug war isn't ending. In some places they are decriminalizing weed to certain extents, but honestly that doesn't make us any closer to legalization. And zomg, did you know that the drug war actually involves other drugs than marijuana? And for some of these the penalties are actually getting worse not better? How the fuck can you say the drug war is already ending. Back to talking about smoking weed. Be excited for what? Our elections are a joke, we vote complete douche bags into office, the drug war if anything is getting amped up every year not dissolving. I'm as proactive as I can be. I read up on everything, I do my best to help people. Be patient for what?  Why shouldn't I be angry? When I see good peoples lives getting fucked up hardcore by our ridiculous policies.

IF you just legalize them you'll cut the money out of the equation. Organizations are built up around the money to be made.


If you legalize the drugs, anybody can go and pick up what they need/want on their own. They don't need a cartel murdering people as they sneak ton after ton over the border. The easiest way to get rid of them is to invalidate their whole business.

Perpetual anger towards the situation does nothing to further your cause. Cold logic and reason is the only way to convince those who already have an emotional response against the cause. The cause needs to 'prove itself' and it is doing just that. I'd say give it 10 years. I have had my fair share of trouble with the law, and I was pissed about it for a while. But then I got over it because I realized that everyone who does drugs is faced with the same issues I was. They all understand the ridiculousness of the situation. I agree with your solution but it is an incredibly radical step and the state will simply not listen to that sort of argument if it is presented with baggage attached.

We need people who don't do drugs/participate in the black market to step up and speak. It's hard for the older generations to do this...but we are in a period of incredible social change, I would keep an optimistic attitude. Marijuana is just the first step.

You have the right approach looking at the drug war's fallacies from an economic perspective. That is how we need to present our arguments. Our presidents may be puppets but the cause to end the war on drugs has a rapidly growing support network and has a bigger demographic involved than ever before.

I applaud what you are doing but I would encourage you to try to keep a level head.

The power is in the people. Unfortunately there hasn't been much of the people getting together and demanding changes. Everyone has been getting wrapped up in all these useless and sometimes controlled movements. Sort of disheartening and making people less likely to try. We out number the government by a shit ton. I'm not saying we should march on washington and burn it down, but we def have the power and the right to demand change against injustice.

Whatever happened to government of the people, by the people, for the people. The government is here to serve us, not the other way around. When the government is fucking up, as it has been majorly, it is the right and the duty of the people to demand changes and get it back on track. The way the elections have been going isn't helping. People are so spun into rep vs. dem debate that it's almost killed any real progress. IT seems like it will really have to start with the grassroots. Unfortunately all these things like the"we want change" for obama, the "tea party movement" and many other controlled/ spun in the wrong direction movements will make it hard for people to take even the real things seriously. Without either "side" throwing in mass media support any effort would be a pretty difficult battle but def worth it. Why not try to get this country into the place it should be. Not just regarding the drug war or any other small part, but just a free country we can all be seriously proud of.

Huge potential problems surround both complete legalization and complete removal of drugs. Neither one is the perfect answer.

It won't end just like that. As long as U.S. citizens continue to sell legal and illegal firearms to the cartels the violence won't stop. In fact, the vast mojority of weapons used by the cartels come from the U.S.

It is also odd that Eric Holder wanted to take the guns away from law abiding citizens, while he and the Obama administration are running guns to Mexican drug cartels.

Over 250 police officers in the United States and Mexico were killed and everyone involved comes under the "KingPinAct" which covers selling guns to the Narcotic Cartels.

So not only do you have criminals in the US trafficking arms to Mexico but you have your own government doing it as well, which in and of itself is criminal.
