Motion or after effects?

which is better/more professional? or do they basically do the same thing? most people i know/talk to use fcp (i also use fcp), but i know lots of people who use premier too. but i dont know anyone who uses motion, while i knoe tons of people who use ae. how do they compare?

ps any reason i cant use fcp and ae together?

mehh after effects is better than motion in my opinion mainly just because i have more experience with it, and
theres how you move fcp projects in ae

I am in film school and we use final cut pro and after effects. for some reason they dont teach motion yet. i have messed around with it a bit on my own and its kinda similar. As for big differences I couldnt tell ya, but after effects is pretty easy to use once you mess with it a bit.

Dude in my opinion After Effects is way better. With motion you can't really create alot of anything, you have to use what is given in Motion while in after effects you can really create just better graphics in general.
