Regular orange construction fencing slides pretty fast when sitting on wood, however when you put it on tur it doesn't help all too much because the turf sticks up through the holes and creates more friction. The idea of the construction fencing is to have a smooth surface that keeps your skis from touching whatever is beneath it. Even though it may not be very thick, if you think about it the fencing would still allow you to slide on top of it without your skis hitting the surface beneath, unless however turf is sticking up through the holes.
Might I suggest using lattice fencing instead. It is usually around 1/4" thick and slides much better than just plain old construction fencing.
I'm not saying get this specific kind, but this is basicially what it looks like, there are diffrent variations and sizes at various prices, but if you walk into home depot or lowes and ask for lattice they will know what you are talking about. I had speed issues with my turf last year, tried construction fencing, which failed miserably, then moved on to lattice and have not had any problems since. Slides super fast for my drop in, but you will probably still want turf on your take off so you can grip easier for spins.
