Muscle Strength vs Muscle Tone

Does one effect the other?
I'm on medication that reduces muscle tone, does that mean that it will also decrease muscle strength? And does that mean it will be harder to gain muscle mass?
What is harder to gain strength or tone?

well, muscle tone is the constant contraction of muscles so that they're ready to fully contract. So I guess muscles being tone keeps them in shape since your body knows it needs them and therefore maintains them.
for instance, cerebral palsy patients who lack muscle tone in there legs due to an issue in the brain, have very poorly developed leg muscles.

guess that really doesn't answer your question but... I guess as long as you don't sit still for weeks on end then probably won't do anything.

When I dont work out for a while I lose muscle tone as well as strength so it seems that they are pretty tied together. However, with medication it could be entirely different. Hopefully it doesnt for your sake, Good Luck

And I'm on them for headaches.

My worry is though that I got a knee reconstruction 3 months ago so I'm trying to get all my muscles strong again.

I believe that the tone of your muscle is just the physical look of it, so you don't necessarily have to be tone to have strength. Because I know a lot people who don't have extremely large muscles but are still really strong. But I really dont know if thats true at all thats just my theory. But you could always try keeping them tone while your on the medicine, unless it would be harmful.

look at the strong man competitions. those guys arent toned at all, but are cock strong.

you are much better off looking this up on google (and then from a reliable website),  Asking kids on late-night newschoolers what their 'theory' is will likely get you nowhere.

well this. but muscle tone is the state of constant contraction that muscles have. apparently, it's often interchanged with the looks or shape of muscle.
