oh lord DONT live in south Oakland. Shady side, better parts of south side, squirrel hill. In general Oakland sucks unless your a freshman. What made you want to come here anyway?!
well I was accepted to University of Colorado and Vermont but I only have 2 more years left- semi-close to home- bunch of other shit- yeah from what im hearing shady side sounds pretty chill-
so whats the deal- is there a tight group of ns'ers- Im bringing my budwieser shot ski out with me as well as a car that will be headed to 7 springs often
PM darco, he'll be at Pitt again next year and I just graduated. I'll be working about 20 minutes away from campus and skiing at Springs whenever I can. There aren't a ton of park skiers at Pitt, but join the snowboard club (PIST). There are a lot of cool people to ride with there. If you're looking for more "networking" in the area, I can give you a list of skiers in the area who are on NS. Springs has a really inviting and easy going vibe, so it's always really easy to ski with new people.
Only live on east carson if you want to deal with people puking on your house and massive drunken fights breaking out every night at 2am.
South Oakland is party central.... it's what you'd expect from any city college town.... the houses are a little run down and its not the cleanest of places but its where all the parties will be.
North Oakland is actually a lot nicer in my opinion and if I were going to Pitt I'd either want to live there or Shadyside.
southside > shadyside. you can find much better apartments or houses for a much better price. i lived in shadyside last year and didn't really like it.
