Seriously I don't think self promotion is bad. It's crazy today because you have people that bash hard on other people that promote too much but it's not wrong. If you don't like it, look the other way. After all, the person who is more experienced should actually act like the big brother and not dump it down like a bunch of crap.. I felt like posting this on the other forums like ski related subjects but this one is for us.
