But to the op, Take everything with a grain of salt because I have never skied either.
Both skis are symetrical and both are pretty light. The main difference in my eyes is the stiffness. The punx are a soft ski and the reno jibs are a stiff ski Especially depending on the year
They will potentially be too stiff for your weight. I would definitively choose the punx over the reno jibs if you're hitting mostly rails. They are mad light and flexy.
I'm your height and weight. I found the Reno Jibs too stiff for my personal taste. However I rode the 08/09s and they were significantly stiffer than the newer model. From what I know the newer models are medium flex.
The atomic punxs are not the most durable ski but they are supper fun. Personally i would go with the reno jibs because I like to butter a lot, but ultimately it's your decision and not mine. (Can't go wrong with either one)
I've never skied reno jibs but I have had punx. Punx are definitely fun skis. They are really light and overall really fun park skis. Although they are soft, they are still really stable on jumps and going fast. They can carve pretty hard too. Only cons are durability (I've heard moment has really good durability too) and punx suck outside of the park because they are soft, symmetrical, and skinny.
punks are rediculously noodly, i can flex them and i weigh like 95 pounds, seeing as ur like 40 pounds more then me mabe go for the jibs i havent tried those?
wouldnt suggest using punx for rails. the edges are very thin and even when detuned i broke them in 8 places after 1 day of riding. it took me 3 weeks on my armada skis do get 1 crack in there. apart from the durability on rails if find the punx one of the best park skis ive ever owned
My '10 punx are okay. The new ski with thicker edges will solve the thin edge problem. But for me, these things don't carve well. It doesn't seem to matter how I try to ski them, they just don't hook up that well. I've got lizzies and those carve circles around my punx. I rode them once last season. lol. It's all personal preference. I weigh 121 and they are a challenge to butter in a 164. But they are fun for cruising and spins and stuff as long as the snow is soft.
