How much to charge for producing video???

I have found $45/hour to work well for me.

Make them pay what you feel your work is worth, don't go by industry standards. And you are making 100 review videos? For something that large, I would charge close to 1500 dollars, but that's just me.

well, do you need to bring tons of shooting accessories, like a jib, dolly, lighting? is the editing complicated, or there no editing required?
I mean, if your just filming a guy speaking for 1-3 minutes on a tripod, and you only have to add a title and upload it to youtube, 45$/hr is pretty damn expensive.

I usually charge 300-400$ for a 1-3 minutes videos that requires some sort of preparation, equipement

like, these 2 videos I made, i got paid about 300$ each





so, if your 100+ video reviews are fairly easy to do, id charge, i dunno 15-20$/hr

I know this sounds dumb, but after a while, if you do reviews, you should start having a pre-made video that you simply fit the clips in? and change titles and shit.. no? I'm just asking. I know i'm kinda off topic..

Ya it's 1.5-3 minute videos with a logo fading into a product logo and name of product and then either a single take with one angle or possible a few close-ups.  Also a title bar when the video starts introducing the person giving the review.  I was thinking for 100 HD videos $15-20 would be reasonable to cover my time, knowledge, and use of my equipment.  What do you think?

Yeah probably like 15. Sounds like the reviews are pretty simple.

Seems like your work would become unoriginal very fast, this coming from a ski bum that makes decent edits for fun

I'm thinking about taking pictures of houses for local real estate agents since my mom is one and can help me get started pretty easy. Anyone else do this, and if you do how much do you get paid? I don't expect it's a lot since it's pretty easy, but most of them are men/women 40-50+ years old who can't work a camera too well, so they all think it's great to have someone else take decent pictures for them. I'm also thinking of some virtual tours to put online where I just walk through the house with my glidecam with the logo in the bottom corner and stuff.

that market is HARD to break into, but with your mom's connections you have a great head start. Only houses selling for big bucks will afford the realtor some extra advertising money, so ask your mom which realtors sell commercial and high end residential. You go in the morning or afternoon to get exteriors during the magic hour, and shoot interiors once it gets bright, before or after. I know guys around here that charge $100 to $400 depending on the house for video tours. Some realtors might also want to be on camera during the tour, so charge extra for that shit. Anyway good luck, there's money out there, convincing people to give it to you is the tricky part.

Yeah my mom happens to be a "Luxury Home Specialist" and I live right on the Seacoast near Rye where the majority of the houses sell for millions on the ocean, so if I can convince her real estate friends to let me shoot for them and give them positive results, I may be able to start working with a bunch of different people and make some good money.
