Blank check

if you loose a blank check, and someone writes their name on it and cashes it, can you find out what the name on the check was?

Haha ok this is why I know im right over everybody.

This is John Smiths Check.

-In pay to box, he writes "cash" This is so he can get himself some cash, perhaps in lieu of using his ATM card. Unless the teller knows him super well, he signs the bottom "John Smith", also endorses the back, and in my experience, with ID, they give you cash, akin to an ATM transaction. Fraud would not be advised with this method.

-At my bank, you can also simply endorse the check "John Smith", swipe your ATM card, and cash. Again, hard to carry out a fraud in this case. Even with friendly tellers, you have to provide some sort of other ID, like a PIN number or something.

-Sign it over to yourself, and then cash it. This is not advised.

All of this is on camera as well. So... I can't really imagine a situation where this could possibly work.

Its an old school way of cashing a check. I promise im not making this up. You guys can all go carry out the robbery of the century and if you dont get caught, then i'll eat crow. Until then though, i'll laugh heartily every time someone takes a stolen check into a bank and walks out empty handed like a teenage girl at a vegas bar caught with fake ID.

YOU HAVE A FUCKING FALL BUDDY YOU FUCKING IDIOT! the cops come to question you, but you lost your ID and prove it by going to the DMV but in reality you had your friend pose as you with your ID for a small cut. all they got is some random kid on camera going into a bank he would otherwise never, ever go to and you're set. just a case of stolen identity.

in todays world you really dont think they could connect the dots between the friend and you? They would spend 3 minutes on facebook, ask your friend to politely tell the truth or face jail, and you would be toast.
