if you loose a blank check, and someone writes their name on it and cashes it, can you find out what the name on the check was?

if you cash a check, it still gets scanned and goes on the check owners account, where they can see a picture of it.

If you find a blank check and try to cash it you will get caught. The check will get scanned and whoever's bank account it is will be able to see the check, they can then prove that they did not sign it because it won't match their signature and you will get fucked over.

So if you lost a blank check just keep checking your account to make sure no1 cashes it, and if you found one, just rip it up

this movie is so depressing because you could get so much for a million bucks back then. now you can buy a nice car, a limo ride for 6 weeks and a few vegas call girls. that would be a terrible movie.

here's what you do...

have a friend, have him take your id and fake it with his picture on it and have him cash the check. give him a certain amount for helping you out and when the cops come to question you, you can tell him you lost your id. oh and make sure it's a bank about 30 mins away from the bank you most frequent. DUH!

untrue there are places i dont remember what there called but you can cash checks and they take a small % of the check there not banks but do it fast before that shit gets canceled

It's identity fraud, and theft essentially.....  in the eyes of the law.

It's the same as stealing a check from someone and making it out to yourself. You or whoever, will be on CCTV at the bank cashing it too....   then the law will get involved when said check owner makes the complaint.

you have access to their entire checking account with the routing numbers, go online and see how much is in their account

I did. You really think taking YOUR ID down there with a fake picture on it and a friend will work?

-Banks have your actual ID on file. Picture, DL number, DOB etc. It pops up when they run shit for you. As in your names wont match? Or am I missing something.
-You are using your actual DL...? Thats not a bad idea... fake picture or not. They won't have to try very hard to find you.
-Many people bank very often, so that tellers will recognize them by face or name. Or they could always look back at the tape if they really want to know who you are. Again, genius plan.

So... either you are completely retarded and meant what you said, in which case I implore you to mosey on down to the bank with your actual ID with a fake picture on it and have your friend attempt this hairbrained plan with an old mans check that has a non matching name and address on it and attempt to withdraw a large amount of cash *not sketchy at all* all on camera and then *lose* your ID and chief wiggum will be completely stumped. Or I mean you get thrown in jail in less than .2 seconds and get brutally raped.

You are looking at some pretty big charges if you get caught, (theft, forgery, identity theft, etc.) not necessarily a lot of jail time, but heavy fines (including paying the person back) and good luck finding a decent job with those on your record.

I would say don't be a douche and just tear the check up. I would much rather have the clear conscience and extra real life karma points then a couple hundred bucks in my pocket.

haha you obviously didn't read it and you've obviously never cashed a check before... and i'd love to see what bank has a picture copy of your license because that's never happened to me both times i've opened up accounts... wait... have you ever opened up your own account before?? hahaha. and again read it because i said WHEN the cops come up to ask you... I am pretty sure if you write a check to yourself (to cash) that you would have to confirm your identity somehow, but I have never done that so I won't say with authority.

This all seems a little crazy, denying whether or not the bank can ascertain your real identity if you defraud them. I mean, even if they don't ID which is exceedingly unlikely, and you send a friend in for you, you don't think you will get caught?

And yeah, OP needs to just throw it out. Its worthless, no matter all the disney movie fantasies in everyones head. Besides, somewhere in there im sure he/she would want to do the right thing...
