How can I transfer Visa giftcards to Paypal?

I have 2 of these: (not my pic, but they look exactly like this, Verizon guy and everything)

$50 each and I want to buy a $100 item on eBay so I need to get the $100 onto Paypal. I tried to add it to Paypal, but it wont let me unless its a "moneypak" card, which I then tried buying in a store but I cant use a Visa giftcard to buy a moneypak card...

any ideas?

I haven't tried this but I think you can add those gift cards to your bank account then transfer the money from your bank to your paypal.

Just add them to the account as if they're a credit card and then just buy stuff with PayPal and it will use them.

theres no option for a credit card, only their special "moneypak" card which is specifically for eBay/Paypal

Go up to "Profile" and then "Add or Edit Credit Cards"

ok thanks they are listed now but instead of depositing the money into paypal they are just listed as two different cards. I cant buy something that is $100 with two $50 cards, you can only use 1 card on a purchase

Well I've never really had that problem but I think you can set them so that when one source runs out you can use the next, but I forget how.

UPDATE BUMP

both cards are in paypal but as credit cards, not paypal money

is there a way to pay for 1 item on eBay with 2 credit cards?

I cant turn them into paypal cash, unless there is some secret option that I missed.

and the second option is probably what I'm going to have to do

the cards instantly turned into usable credit cards, not Paypal "cash" so like "skitheeast" said, thats not an option. I too will probably have to go with option 2

Go to your bank and get an advance on the card. Basically they will just charge the card and then give you the cash amount from it. Then either use the money to buy a moneypack or whatever you needed, or deposit it into your paypal account if that's possible.

they do that? didn't know that, good to know.


And you can just add them as credit/debit cards to your paypal account, but not sure if they will charge both of them at the same time. I'd do this quoted idea instead

i had the same problem.. Add them to your account as debit. And when you buy something it should work via paypal. But when you add them to your account, it will not show up in your balance. I had like 70$ on my paypal as balance, and added a 200$ TD bank visa gift card to my account, and GoPro accepted the money. Hope this helps..
