Just because you dont use one doesn't mean they're a joke. My parents have two iPads and they are perfect for their computing needs. I think they're fucking rad now that I've used them. If your lounging watching TV and need to check email, FB, browse, whatevs, tablets are the perfect tool.
For what may be the first time in my life, i 100% agree with you. 90% of apple fanboys dont know anything about android or have never tried it, and go around ranting about how android sucks and steve jobs is god. if youve tried it, fine, if youre a dickhead, gtfo.
hmm you are judging the device simply by numbers similar to how pc users compare macs and pc's. you cant do this and pc's are better anyways but as far as phones go iphone is still king. heres a little rebuttle to that article:
1. ok better screen resolution plus smaller screen makes way better display on the iphone
2. 4g. again you are hyping numbers without thinking about them first. im biased because i dont have a data plan so i only use my iphone with wifi because yes 3g is slow but for people intent on getting internet all day everywhere have fun charging your phone every 5 hours.
3. camera. again numbers dont mean shit on cell phones. the iphone cam is great and not noticeably worse than androids 8mp
4. front facing camera are stupid as is video chat but have fun chatting the select few people that have androids wit front facing cameras vs all the fanboys with ipads crapbooks itouch and iphone
5. androids app market is a joke and still will be for prolly 3 years no where close to apples
6. download skyfire for your iphone/ipad boom magic flash on your idevice
7. storage. next iphone will have 64 gb
8. size. this isnt like comparing a thin crapbook vs a clunky pc. its a phone its supposed to be small.iphone is smaller and noticeably more comfortable/usable in your hands/pocket.
and jailbroken iphone is exponentially more capable than any droid
lol I guess what I'm trying to say is that in my PERSONAL OPINION I do not like the tablet. I prefer the iPad. It's as simple as that. For many reasons, I would just much rather use an iPad to a tablet; an iPhone to a droid. That's just me.
I got this phone last year that makes phone calls and sends text messages. its fucking sick. you know what the best part is its even got a little camera too! BONUS!
1. Hold on. You have an iphone...but you don't have a data plan? That doesn't make sense.
2. I can turn 4g on and off whenever I want on the Thunderbolt and use 3g. With 3g my battery lasts the whole day and much more. Battery is not a problem ever. When I need to use 4g, I turn it on use it and turn it off.
3. The android market is a joke? Really? Your apps cost a shitload. A majority of our apps are >$1.00 and we've got tons of apps. Maybe not as many as yours, but still alot.
4. When iphone comes with flash straight out of the box, then I'll be impressed.
5. Have fun paying extra to have 64 gb of memory. And not being able to switch out cards. herp derp.
6. Size differences? The Droid is thinner. ok, it's bigger. Some should say more manly.
7. Jailbroken iphone vs. rooted Android. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA know your facts.
8. Don't forget about apple's shitty encased battery. Why the fuck would any company not make an easily removable battery for a phone?
1. hmm you know what does? living in a developed area where everywhere i go has wifi plus an extra 20 bucks in my pocket every month
2. 4g is still stupid
3. i have installous so every app i want is free....
4. just get it for free....
5.i personally dont need 64 yet alone 32 gb but go ahead and compare the cost of a droid plus a 64 gb microsd card to an iphone
6.no droids are still big as fuck and not thinner
7. ummm no.... not to mention every great idea for a mobile phone os came out first by the dev team
8. because our phones battery last 3 plus years and the people that replace droid batterys frequently do so because there battery life is atrocious and they have multiple batteries. my iphone 3g's original battery gets me a day and is this honestly hard for you to do once after two or three years:
9. again stop hyping the numbers a ton of shit factors into how fast your phone is
Ha, niglet I have been one of the few people trying to get you retards to stop debating about phones and giving such a fuck about who gets what or whose phone is better
You shouldn't be calling people retards my dude. And besides, why do you care? If people want to argue over something like this because we're all bored then....why not?
i've never used an android, but they way i look at it is that the iphone has so many benefits. Its super universal so finding a charger for it on the go at someones house is simple and if you know what your doing you can unleash a crazy amount of potential with your iphone. A lot of people go on about swype for android and all that shit androids can do, but all you have to do is go on your iphone and download it from cydia.
In a sense, the customization with an iphone is almost as if an iphone is more like a PC and a android is more like a mac.
BTW, to the guy who mentioned he needs an android phone to tether, all you have to do is go into cydia and download an app called MyWI. It allows you to create hotspots via USB, bluetooth, or WEP encrypted wireless. Just make sure you watch your DATA usage in settings..
If i was clueless how to jailbreak, an android might be more appealing, but i have yet to find something you can do on an android but not an iphone.
1) replace my car stereo with it and just use it as my music source/GPS/internet browsing
2) I have a 27 inch imac desktop so i could use it around the house with that one app that lets you use your ipad to control your desktop. It'd be like carrying my computer around everywhere haha.
Oh and BTW, i wouldn't even need to get the 3G for the ipad because i could just use my iphone and tether its 3G network to my ipad in the car. it'd be killer.
to your first point, I assume every household has a basic mirco USB cable laying around for something, not some apple specific specialty cable. And you have to be joking about the customization.
1) I think the USB with the end that fits in the iphone is apple specific?
2) With a jailbroken iphone you can customize the shit out of it by using cydia.
3) your website only works in the united states?
Think about this.. In a few years technology may be so advanced and intelligent that we're not even gonna need credit cards, newspapers, books, calculators, clocks etc. because everyone is gonna have some fucking iphone app.. Kinda nuts to think about.. Apple is slowly advancing to WORLD DOMINATION
word.
okay all you android fags. i chose an iphone because i like iphones. i like how they look. i like the specific layout. i made a conscious decision and i could not give two, three, or four shits about how you can talk about the android features being better in some geeky ass nit picky complaining way. please keep these commentaries to yourself and please your own starved minds with this useless bullshit that nobody except you and other like minded sticklers with poles up their asses and nothing better to do want to read
i am so happy for you that you have an android and that you're satisfied with how AMAZING it is, just please be happy with yourselves
This makes no sense... Not everyone has a iphone charger, but pretty much everyone i know has a usb cable.
As far as customization goes, android is OPEN SOURCE. That means if you root your phone you can completely re-write the OS(several very good ROMs available).
I will admit that iPhone tends to be a bit more stable than android but thats only because apple only has to make the OS work with one model. Android has hundreds of models now with many different companies which can sometimes cause compatibly issues, especially on lower end phones.
In my opinion competition is good. If apple ruled the market everyone would have the same fucken phone. I for one prefer diversity.
But when it all comes down to it, I think android wins because of its close Google integration.
But hell, I just write software, what the fuck do i know
are you kidding me? as long as you have some sort of ipod cable that isn't a shuffle as well as a computer, you have a way to charge your iphone.
and if you jailbreak your iphone you can open up the root of your iphone..
i dont get a phone because its diverse or different from other phones, i get a phone cause its works well. Not to mention, once jailbroken i can make my iphone as different from other peoples iphones as i want.
you write software? anyone can say they do something, does it mean they're skilled at it. Plenty of people are skilled software developers and im sure many would prefer the iphone, i wonder what geohot or the dev team would say? but im just a user, what would i know?
And yea i know android 2.2 cant take full advantage of a dual core processor, but Motorola has announced that we will be getting android 2.3, which should take more advantage of the dual core processor.
And as for batteries:
Iphone 1420 Mah Battery
Atrix 1900 Mah Battery
The Atrix battery is 33% more powerful than the Iphone's Battery, plus you don't void your warranty changing it.
Dude, don't even try to argue the charger thing. Micro USB is pretty much an international standard. EU has a law that every portable has to have micro don't they?
