I went for it in February. Basically if you want a 5gb upload limit, no weekly limit on HD, insane statistics and HD embedding its worth it. Also IMO, when people see the plus badge next to your name they think of you as a more serious filmmaker because you are paying for the service. Anyways its your call, but if anything its a good donation to vimeo, which is one hell of a site.

Yes. For me, it has been worth every penny. The stats you can look up are epic, other things i like are replacing original video file, hd embed, 5gb a week, unlimited hd uploads and not to mention skipping the conversion line and faster uploading. Ive taken an edit from FCP and had it up on vimeo in 20 mins, its fucking awesome. Plus, the money goes to a website that has the cleanest, fastest and by far more efficient video players, which im stoked to support with my money.

Emphasis on this part.

On a side note, does anybody find it funny how Brightcove was headed in the direction of Vimeo, but then effed it up when they started required payed subscriptions... then Vimeo took over.

Go for it dude. I'd totally get it but i'm not so much a serious filmmaker as I am a photographer, so the 1week HD upload a week is satisfying for me.

I definately noticed that too. I had a few edits on brightcove that are just gone now and they used to be one of the best players out there.

I'm guessing its probably only better if full screened and you compare like a 100mb video to a 800mb video of the same length.
