Lens help!

Im looking around for a good crisp picture lens! I'll be filming updates videos for a band so it needs to be pretty wide but no distortion. I almost want to got fixed if I have to.

Heres a few option I have looked at:

I have a kit lens and a 50mm so I was thinking maybe get the fisheye just to have another look?

You mean you want a prime?

- What's your budget?
- Do you want a lens JUST to film band updates? Sounds pretty stupid to me...
- Why do you want it to be so close? You can fit a 5-man band with a 50mm if you're standing away 15ft.
- A 50mm will be just fine. Unless you find 15ft too much.

- Get an Olympus OM Zuiko 28mm f/3.5 if you want something wider. 50$, not very fast, so you'll either need really good lighting or do the updates outside, which is never a bad idea.

not the fisheye... how much are you willing to spend? the 17-40 4L and 17-55 2.8 (ef-s) are both good lenses but are a lot more expensive

Don't get a fisheye, for music unless its punk. Also what is youre price range? What ia the light going to be like?

tokina 11-16, the solution to all your problems.

i have that lens along with a sigma 10mm fisheye and i could not be any happier!

11-16 is great on a crop sensor. But If you want something with a bit more of a focal length try the canon 17-40L or the tamron 17-50.

As for the 2 lenses you posted, the sigma from what I hear isnt bad for a UWA. But Rokinon is just going to be horrible for filming if you're trying to avoid distortion/film bands.
