Length of skis?

i ride 166 and im 5'6 when would i need to get longer skis liek how tall would i be before i got lik171 or 176 (no rocker)

When you feel comfortable enough to handle a longer ski.

mmhm.

If you feel that your current skis are too short. Go out and demo a ski in the 171-176 range.

Depends on what you prefer.
I'm 5'2 and ride a 170, but i've always liked longer skis..
Some people like shorter better, I'd def agree with the demo idea to get a feeling of what you like

im 5'4 and i ride 158's but its all down to personal preference, longer skis will be more controllable at speed but shorter ones may be more manoverable on rails and in the air.

At 160lbs you have a huge range of choices open to you.  If you are looking for something jib specific and aren't hitting bug jumps, 50 foot +, regularly you can size a bit because you don't need as much stability, but longer skis make it easier to ride out sketchy landings.  If you are looking for a jump and pipe ski I would probably recommend a 176cm for you.  All said and done though you gotta be comfortable with it or it's not the right call.
