only one thread about the release date for this cam so i thought i might as well make a new one. I am really interested in this cam because its getting awesome reviews and looks like you get a lot of sick features and quality for your money and in a nice compact size while still looking professional. I am just wondering if anybody has had the chance to use this cam or the 105 and can say anything about it or has heard anything. thanks.
yeah i know there is that as an option but i was just wondering if people here have had any experiences with it. The small size and timelapse features on it are definitely things that I like about it. I would never ditch my 7D but I also would like to have a good video camera for those days where i dont want to carry all my lenses and everything for my dslr.
DSLR's are relatively compact, especially compared to nicer video cameras, take the HVX for example. If I wanted lightweight and portability, I would choose a 7D with a couple lenses over an HVX any day. And honestly, like Evan said, just get a used HVX if you want a nice video camera, it is amazing.
i dont want this to turn into a thread about HVX's vs. other cams/dslr's. I just want to know what people think about the xf100 in our type of filming etc, and not possible alternative cameras to the xf100. I know what is out there camera wise and have heard enough about the HVX to know its a good cam but this thing is new and looks pretty sick for the price too. Also, I would never buy a camera second hand. Thats just me and my personal opinion.
