HDSLR advice - shooting music festivals

Any video enthusiasts out there willing to give me a few words of advice? Ive got some work lined up this summer to shoot music festivals and clubs primarily doing photo stuff, but they also want me to do a bit of video work - which I've never done much of. What kind of equipment is standard for this kind of thing? I shoot with a Canon 60d and I know I need more to go with it. A mic? A light? And pointers or advice would be greatly appreciated.

well your 60d can only record for 12 minutes...keep that in mind.
you probably need some good lenses, depending on what exactly your filming. Indoors, outdoors, far away, close shots, ect..
for audio i would get a shotgun mic, rode video mic or video mic pro are good. Or I use a zoom h4n for filming events, just depends on the jobs you get.
Usually whenever I get a job, once in a while I will "have to" buy some new piece of gear. Basically an excuse to add a new toy to my Lowepro bag. But in the end it pays itself off.

Thanks, will look into that mic, 150 is pretty reasonable. Any other words?

Hire someone else... I hate when photo prople take my job and do a shitty job. Unless uou can pull it off and make it sick, give the contract to a friend and stick to the photo

Duly noted, however its worth mentioning that I am by no means obliged to do video or am taking anyone else's work. In my mind I'm taking this opportunity to learn new stuff.
