Obviously the Skiers were Un-chosen because there is not one ski shot in the new Nike video "The Chosen". What a total joke and how shitty because there team is pretty stacked. Not even a mention of skiing but plenty of Skating, Snowboarding, Surfing, BMX and Moto. Skier kids should BOYCOTT Nike. Just Don't Do it.

Yea, Nike is sick alright. They don't even believe in skiing enough to include it in this video. Does it make you wonder how much they really back skiing if they didn't show it in this video? Sammy Carlson is bad as fuck and he didn't make it in this video. Shit how rad would it have been to see the triple he threw last year in this video. Thats right it would have made everyone else look stupid.

Personally, I'll keep buying Nike because I like the shoes they make. It's not like TJ or Jossi made me like Nike dunks, and the lack of skiing in a promotional video by them won't make me not like dunks. Nike is about as far from 'Core' as it gets already, so are you guys really that surprised by this?

I agree that Nike is a terrible blight and no one should ever touch their products again. But unfortunately a boycott by skiers won't do much. Especially considering how much skiing is endowed by Nike. Everyone here seems to love them. Just look at the latest IF3 logo, the Nike symbol attached to the top is practically the same size as it. Almost any other company I wouldn't mind. But I really really despise Nike.

This is Riley Poors project. He spent a large part of his career filming Wilson, Bushy, and Simon. You can be sure skiing will be a part of the contest. If you look below it says Snow contest coming for winter. Watched this last night and noticed the same thing, but was told skiing would be a part of it too, just wasn't in the trailer for some reason.

You will not see Sammy or Simon in one of these videos because they are on Oakley for technical outerwear / apparel and only on Nike 6.0 for footwear. You will see Andreas, TJ and Jossi in the their marketing stuff because their Nike 6.0 footwear and outerwear / apparel. I left out the word "technical" for Nike's stuff because it is cheep price point stuff.

And if you look at the history of Nike in action sports they pay to play. Andreas was on ACG then moved to 6.0, because ACG was not popular in the states (only in Europe / Russia). They killed the ACG line because Dick's Sports had a exclusive contract with the product line, so they couldn't get into core shops. If you look at TJ, he had a pro model kit with Orage. Nike had to of given him a lot of money to leave brand that gave him a pro model. Also, Jossi, that dude got paid too. Why would you leave Oakley which has one of the best product on the market as far a tech, style and core.

I also heard a rumor that 6.0 may be done. The new "Nike Action Sports" brand will be, Nike SB, Nike Surf, and Nike Snow. Where the money is at. Look at their team and how they position / pair their athletes. Nike SB just signed Koston a few years ago. SB will focus on the LA and NYC (big city / urban) market. Nike Surf will focus on Australia, Julian Wilson signed a contract for 5 year, $5 million. And finally Nike Snow will focus on Europe. Their big guns are Gigi and Müller. They do have Kass but his pro career is coming to an end. He also got paid a lot to leave Vans. A source of mine said that he signed a multi million dollar contract with Nike. He is one of the top three pair snowboarders 1) White 2) Kass 3) Rice, according to Transworld Business. Nike could care less about skiing. They probably added skiing to 6.0 to make it 6 sports. Surf, Moto, BMX, Wake, Snowboard and Ski. Also, if you think about it how may newschoolers wear snowboard outerwear?

Although I do wear Nike shoes. I only wear SB and running shoes, I don't wear 6.0 because their quality sucks.

where are you getting your information that there is a separate Summer and Winter campaign? they clearly included snowboarding in that commercial... i'm not saying i won't buy Nike, but lets face it, freeskiing got hosed in this commercial.

i think Nike knows what it is doing with their marketing a lot better than some teens on a ski forum. You cant hate on the athletes for making strategic financial decisions when you are still on your parent's cellphone bills.

I think skiing is just not noticed as 'cool' yet. I think the public thinks that skiing and freeskiing are the same which is just not true. Its like ahmet dadali said, " Skiing is what was broken away from nearly 20 years now. Skiing is what old people do."

The ad isn't about 6.0 it's about Nike... hense the skating in there it's all of their brands... like Muller doesn't ride for 6.0 either, he rides for Nike Snow...

Anyway the skiing part was the lamest out the series...

on the website towards the bottom it says that there's going to be a winter campaign. I could really give two shits that they didn't show skiing though, yes it's extremely lame, but that commercial is so ill.

Actually, Widen+Kennedy does most if not all of Nike's marketing.  Nike is a company built with four key employees.  Lawyers, designers, accountant's and engineers.  There are few "marketing jobs" on campus.  I know this because I'm friends with several Nike employees.
